I think it was around this time last year.
A solo trip with my Sportage.
I planned my first trip alone using a weekday off from work while my wife and child went on a trip to Japan.
I wanted to see the sunrise, but Gangwon Province seemed too far, so I searched online and found that a place called Duemulmeori in Yangpyeong was recommended.
Additionally, I discovered a driving route to the Rocogallery, a popular spot for car enthusiasts at dawn.
Since I was going on this trip to clear my mind, I didn’t plan to post anything special about it. However, while organizing my photos recently, I remembered that trip and decided to share it.
The sunrise spot Duemulmeori in Yangpyeong
I found that Duemulmeori was only halfway to Gangwon Province from Suwon.
After checking the sunrise time for a weekday morning, I set off early!
The highway was quiet, and I quickly arrived while enjoying the fresh morning air.
After arriving, I got out of the car and had a snack, then noticed something strange.
Huh??
I saw a stray cat sleeping on the hood of my Sportage, probably because it was cold.
At first, I thought, “What’s this? Oh, how cute!” but then I worried it might scratch the car with its claws, so I tried to shoo it away.
But it didn’t budge and kept sleeping, haha.
I wondered how cold it must have been for the cat to seek warmth like that.
I couldn’t just let this beautiful morning pass by without enjoying it, so I restarted my engine to warm up the car and waited for the sunrise.
My first solo trip, my first early morning drive, and a place I didn’t know...
Everything felt new, and I felt a bit restless sitting in the car.
I decided to get out of the car, grab my camera, and explore Duemulmeori.
The atmosphere was really nice. It felt like a quiet, cozy park.
Even though I chose this route on a whim, it turned out to be a good decision, haha.
I noticed there was a convenience store next to the parking lot, but it was closed since it was early on a weekday.
I regretted not picking up a coffee, thinking, “I should have known it would be closed,” haha.
I chose Duemulmeori as my first early morning drive to catch the sunrise, but seeing the fog made me feel a bit down, haha.
The fog really made me feel gloomy, haha.
And then I decided to head home.
Since I didn’t know the way, I relied on my navigation system to get back home.
This was my first early morning drive to Duemulmeori and Rocogallery, and I wanted to share my experience.
Personally, I still don’t understand why I travel alone.
In this busy world, we rarely get the chance to relax, so why not enjoy it with someone else? Haha.
But I’ve come to understand it recently.
Right now, I feel the urge to escape, haha.
So maybe that’s why I wanted to write about these photos from my trip?
I definitely want to drive to Duemulmeori and Rocogallery again, but since there are still many places I haven’t visited, I think I’ll explore somewhere new next time, haha.
If you haven’t been, I highly recommend you go!
And make sure to bring your camera!
I love cars and enjoy trying new things.
I hope only fun things happen in the future.
That’s all for now.
