In a previous post, I introduced the unboxing of the new Adidas golf shoes, the "Adizero ZG (Jetzi)." Today, I will provide a more detailed review focused on performance on the field.
So, first off, the design looks fantastic, right? It resembles a high-performance sports car, perhaps because it features a Boa system instead of traditional laces, giving the upper part a sleek appearance.
The lightweight materials provide a comfortable fit even during long rounds, and the cushioning technology called "Lightstrike Pro" offers a balance of softness and firmness without being overly squishy.
While performance and comfort are crucial when choosing golf shoes, I personally believe that the design and color that match my golf attire are also very important.
In that regard, I find the Adidas golf shoes, the Jetzi Adizero ZG, to be a suitable model that meets my dressing-up needs.
The newly introduced Dynamic Motion, 3D Torsion Plate outsole delivers strong grip performance comparable to uncomfortable, rigid spiked golf shoes, yet it remains comfortable underfoot.
Adidas describes this feature as the Undercut Blade and SpikeMore outsole. The terminology might be a bit complex, but in simple terms, the protrusions in the middle of the sole provide basic grip support, while the side protrusions enhance lateral traction.
For male golfers who are serious about distance, lateral traction is crucial. While preventing slipping is essential, those who make wide swings need to ensure they achieve accurate strikes.
During impact, the lower body must provide solid support, and this feature plays a crucial role in that support.
Another interesting feature of the Adizero Jetzi ZG outsole is the "Anti-Clogging Cone," which helps golfers maintain balance and traction on uneven terrain.
At first glance, the cone shape of the spikes may seem unusual, but this technology allows ground pressure to vary based on the terrain and slope. Thanks to this, I found it possible to swing comfortably even from various tricky lies.
Additionally, I want to commend the outsole for its resistance to debris. After just a few holes on the course, traditional spiked golf shoes often collect grass and other debris between the spikes, which can diminish grip. However, with the Adizero ZG, I found no such concerns.
I didn't even need to shake off the dirt from the soles after my round. It's true!
These shoes are incredibly comfortable, and every year, new models emerge that get lighter and enhance grip performance.
How far can Adidas golf shoes go? Haha, I'm joking, but at this rate, a few years down the line, we might see golf shoes that feel like you're barefoot yet stick to the ground like magnets.
Personally, I prefer lace-up golf shoes over Boa types. Although the Adizero ZG lacks laces, it compensates for this with its design, which increased my satisfaction.
While the Boa system is convenient for putting on and taking off and allows for tighter adjustments during rounds, I tend to dislike the hiking boot or overly golf-like appearance.
However, the Adizero ZG elegantly covers these aspects in its design. Additionally, as the name "Adizero" suggests, it draws inspiration from Adidas running shoes, providing a comfortable fit with heel cushioning and a structurally designed tongue and insole that enhance the overall experience.
Currently, the conditions on the field are not perfect, and I encounter various hard or slippery fairways and greens.
