Starting today, pre-orders for the fully redesigned Hyundai Palisade, set to launch early next year, have begun. The company also revealed the hybrid pricing. Despite expectations of a significant price increase due to the larger body and bold design compared to the previous model, the starting price for the 2.5 Turbo Hybrid 9-seater is set at 49,820,000 KRW (approximately $37,000 USD) for the gasoline variant, which seems quite competitive.
I previously discussed the design in my last post, and many media outlets have already shared photos and videos of the actual Palisade. So, I will skip that part and focus today on the pricing and options related to the new Palisade.
The interior photos are quite interesting; the first-row seat features a three-person bench. While it may be a bit cramped for three adults, the 9-seater Palisade maximizes space with a foldable multi-console that can be utilized as seating.
When you open the third-row seats, it perfectly accommodates the 9-seater configuration, allowing access to bus lanes. The second row features a 60:40 split seat with electric folding, sliding, reclining, and wing-out headrest functions.
However, those eagerly awaiting the Palisade's full redesign will likely see the highest demand for the 7-seater model. The second-row independent seats come with a Relaxation Comfort feature, and you can opt for Dynamic Bodycare seats with a massage function.
Notably, the seats feature a tilting walk-in function that allows them to lean forward, creating an additional 92 mm of space for passengers entering the third row, making it much more comfortable. This function also operates effectively even with a child seat installed.
The Palisade aims to fulfill its role as a family vehicle more effectively. The driver’s display allows adjustments to the position and angle of the second and third-row seats, while the overhead controller enables rear-seat passengers to control the front and rear air conditioning and heating.
Most importantly, the new Palisade's 2.5 Turbo Hybrid trim boasts a combined output of 334 horsepower, including the motor, and offers a driving range of over 1,000 km on a single tank of gas. This suggests a larger fuel tank capacity and improved fuel efficiency.
Additionally, the 2.5 Turbo Hybrid includes driving-specialized technologies such as e-Ride, e-Handling, e-EHA, and e-DTVC, which enhance ride comfort and driving performance. Furthermore, the 1.65 kWh 300V high-voltage lithium-ion battery enables features like V2L and Stay Mode, allowing hybrid vehicles to experience EV-specific technologies for the first time.
The most anticipated trim of the Palisade full redesign includes the Preview Electronic Control Suspension, previously exclusive to Genesis models, enhancing ride comfort. The thickness of the glass in the front and rear doors has increased, and all windows in the vehicle have improved soundproofing, making it quieter and safer. The new crosswind safety control technology prevents vehicle drift during strong winds through braking and steering control.
Now, looking at the disclosed prices, the 2.5 Turbo gasoline variant for the 9-seater Exclusive starts at 43,830,000 KRW (approximately $33,000 USD), while the top-spec trim, the Calligraphy, costs 57,940,000 KRW (approximately $43,000 USD). The highly anticipated 2.5 Turbo Hybrid shows an increase of about 5,000,000 KRW (approximately $3,800 USD) compared to the gasoline model for the same trim level, with the detailed pricing for each trim listed below. Starting in the mid-40s million KRW, it could rise to the mid-70s million KRW (approximately $53,000 to $53,000) with additional options.
2.5 Turbo Hybrid 9-seater: Exclusive 49,820,000 KRW / Prestige 55,360,000 KRW / Calligraphy 61,860,000 KRW
2.5 Turbo Hybrid 7-seater: Exclusive 51,460,000 KRW / Prestige 57,290,000 KRW / Calligraphy 64,240,000 KRW
Today marks the start of pre-orders, with vehicle deliveries scheduled to begin in January. It seems that there will soon be a new car launch event or test drive event, and I will provide more detailed information then.
