Today, the 2025 Seoul Mobility Show ( will be held at KINTEX in Ilsan from April 3 to April 13. Let’s take a quick look at the new cars that Hyundai Motor Group, including Hyundai, Genesis, and Kia, will unveil at their booths, which are generating the most interest.
Hyundai Motor
Hyundai Motor
Hyundai will unveil the all-new Nexo and Ioniq 6 for the first time. The new Nexo, which makes its global debut, is an eco-friendly hydrogen vehicle designed as a compact SUV with a crossover style.
The design completely differs from its predecessor, featuring an exterior that evokes the new Ioniq series. This production model is based on the hydrogen fuel cell concept "Inisium," which debuted last October. The front daytime running lights and rear tail lamps symbolize hydrogen with the molecular formula H2 and represent the new Hyundai hydrogen brand "HTWO," which embodies Hydrogen and Humanity.
The motor outputs a maximum power of 150 kW, achieving 0 to 60 mph in 7.8 seconds and an estimated driving range of over 435 miles. Hyundai will also introduce the electric concept car Instroid and a lineup of eco-friendly vehicles, including hybrid electric cars and high-performance N electric vehicles.
The warm interior design is impressive. The new Nexo on display at the Seoul Mobility Show incorporates eco-friendly materials throughout its interior and exterior, such as recycled plastics from scrapped vehicles, bio-process leather, bio-polyurethane leather, bio-paint, bio-plastics, recycled PET fabric, and linen fabric.
The two-stage motor system equipped with two inverters enhances motor efficiency to 90%, allowing the Nexo to achieve a maximum output of 150 kW. As a hydrogen vehicle, it can travel over 435 miles with a short refueling time of about five minutes, making it a strong alternative to current electric vehicles.
The Ioniq 6, despite its sporty and stylish design, has not met sales expectations among the Ioniq series. However, the recent facelift significantly improves the controversial headlamp design and enhances its streamlined appeal.
The previous Ioniq 6 resembled a classic Porsche, but this facelift showcases a completely transformed silhouette. The redesigned "Electrified Streamliner" concept features sleek LED daytime running lights and headlamps positioned below, giving it a more futuristic design.
The Ioniq 6 N line, unveiled at the 2025 Seoul Mobility Show, inherits the design DNA of the RN22e long-lap concept revealed in 2022, adding a sportier touch.
While electric vehicles like the Ioniq are gaining popularity, models like the new hydrogen-powered Nexo could quickly shift the market if more options become available and the charging infrastructure continues to grow.
Additionally, the electric concept car "Instroid," based on the Casper, will be an exciting highlight at the 2025 Seoul Mobility Show.
Genesis
Genesis
Having introduced Hyundai, we cannot overlook Genesis. Right across the aisle, Genesis will unveil two concept cars that embody the brand's new flagship vision, celebrating its 10th anniversary.
During the press conference at the Seoul Mobility Show, Genesis will showcase the "X Gran Coupe" and "X Gran Convertible" concept cars.
These two models, which resemble a sports car, showcase a luxurious flagship sedan that reflects the design assets Genesis has accumulated over the past decade.
Genesis emphasizes a new form of flagship that caters to diverse tastes and lifestyles, featuring a long hood "long-nose" design that highlights the vehicle's volume with wider fenders. The frameless structure of the long doors and the absence of a B-pillar characterize the large Day Light Opening (DLO).
Genesis will also showcase features like a hidden rear camera and gesture recognition technology that allows users to open the trunk with a hand motion at its booth during the Seoul Mobility Show.
The dashboard and door trims use real wood, while the X Gran Convertible features blue-hued natural leather reminiscent of premium wine grapes, filling the interior with luxury.
Additionally, Genesis will unveil the GMR-001 hypercar design for the first time in Korea at the Seoul Mobility Show, announcing plans for the brand's entry into endurance racing.
Kia Motors
Kia Motors
Finally, we arrive at the Kia booth, where the main attraction is the electric vehicles that symbolize Kia's shift to a new mobility paradigm, particularly the Kia Tasman, which will debut as the brand's first true pickup truck concept model.
The Tasman, especially the PV5, offers various possibilities beyond commercial use, making it adaptable for outdoor leisure activities. It serves as a medium-sized PBV (Purpose Built Vehicle) equipped with advanced technology for mobility services, logistics, and recreational activities.
The PBV-specific platform, optimized for the Hyundai Motor Group's electric vehicle platform E-GMP, is known as E-GMP.S. It features a wider interior and cargo space, accommodating a broad product lineup from small to large PBVs.
On the other hand, the internal combustion engine model, the Tasman, has also captured significant interest. Despite its rugged appearance, it offers a comfortable ride and stable off-road and on-road driving capabilities, enhancing its image as a versatile outdoor lifestyle concept vehicle.
The "Arctic" concept adds unique features like a roof basket and multi-tool box for customers who enjoy winter sports such as glacier tours and skiing.
The Weekender concept builds on the Tasman X-PRO model, which is specialized for rugged terrain and off-road driving, and many Tasman owners might be interested in tuning their vehicles through aftermarket suppliers. Expect related off-road style accessories and trim upgrade programs to be launched soon.
