KG Mobility officially launched the country's first electric pickup truck, the Musso EV, in the pickup market. KGM stated that it has pioneered and led new markets by providing advanced technology and value in the changing mobility environment. Based on its extensive pickup expertise, the company aims to offer differentiated and competitive products in the global market, establishing itself as a trusted mobility brand.
Additionally, KGM presented the direction of the Musso brand as a practical and reasonable pickup while maintaining its authenticity. Through the launch of the brand that connects the SUV Musso spirit and Musso sports heritage, the company plans to maintain the authenticity of KGM's pickup trucks while creating a more differentiated portfolio in a practical manner.
KGM announced that all pickup models will operate under the Musso brand, with the Rexton Sports and Rexton Sports Khan being renamed to Musso Sports and Musso Khan, respectively. The first lineup, the Musso EV, is an electric pickup truck that adds pickup styling to an electric SUV. It combines the economic benefits of electric vehicles with the versatility of pickups and the practicality of SUVs, making it comfortable for both outdoor activities and urban driving.
The Musso EV emerged from KGM's design philosophy of Powered Toughness, embodying a convenient yet sturdy Handy & Tough design. The deck and body connect seamlessly, creating a robust silhouette enhanced by environmentally friendly and clean design elements, culminating in a sophisticated and unique style exclusive to electric pickup trucks.
The front features a sharp hood character line and a dynamic black grille that create a strong impression. The horizontal dot-type LED daytime running lights and integrated turn signal lamps convey a high-tech vibe, while the dual projection FULL LED headlights enhance brightness and width for better nighttime visibility. The three-dimensional bumper with an integrated towing hook and high-luminance silver skid plate contribute to the outdoor image.
The side and rear sections lower the boundary between passenger cars and trucks, expressing a balance that encompasses both daily use and outdoor activities. The character line running from the front to the rear adds dynamism, while the C-pillar garnish evokes a tool with a good grip.
The LED rear combination lamp, shaped like a tool, implements a bold design identity. The sleek and stylish spoiler features a high mount stop lamp in the center, enhancing rear visibility.
The Musso EV offers six exterior colors: Grand White, Blazing Gold, Amazonia Green, Ultra Marine, Marble Gray, and Space Black. The interior features natural leather seats available in black, brown, or gray two-tone options.
The base price for the Musso EV starts at 48 million KRW (approximately 36,000 USD), while the Black Edge variant starts at 50.5 million KRW (approximately 38,000 USD). After receiving government subsidies of 6.52 million KRW (approximately 4,900 USD) and local government subsidies of 1.86 million KRW (approximately 1,400 USD) based on Seoul's standards, the actual purchase price will fall to the high 30 million KRW range (around 28,000 USD).
Business owners can further reduce the actual purchase price to the low 30 million KRW range (around 23,000 USD) by taking advantage of additional support and VAT refunds. Various tax benefits, such as a 5% acquisition tax reduction (up to 1.4 million KRW or approximately 1,000 USD), an annual vehicle tax of 28,500 KRW (approximately 22 USD), and discounts on highway tolls, are also available.
