Volvo's popular model, the XC60, will make its debut as the 2026 model year. While Volvo plans to release the compact electric vehicle EX30, a facelift for the XC90, and the upcoming EX60, the XC60 remains the brand's best-selling vehicle.
The existing XC60 underwent a facelift in 2021 after the launch of its second-generation model in 2017. The redesign included changes to the grille and wheel design, the introduction of a new world design, and the addition of new trims.
The 2026 XC60 model will maintain its existing design. However, it will improve in terms of detail and finish. Additionally, the latest technology will enhance its marketability.
The most significant change will occur in the grille at the front. It will adopt a design based on the XC90, moving away from the simpler existing pattern to create a more sophisticated look with intersecting diagonal lines. The tail lamp color will darken, and new wheel designs and exterior colors will also be introduced.
The new XC60 will feature upgraded luxury materials, including quilted Nordico and navy herringbone weave. Additionally, the wireless smartphone charging function has improved, and a new cup holder design has been added.
The infotainment system will upgrade from a 9.0-inch to an 11.2-inch touchscreen, with increased pixel density. The Qualcomm Snapdragon cockpit platform will enhance performance significantly. According to Volvo, the new XC60 will deliver twice the overall speed and ten times the graphics processing speed compared to the previous system.
All Volvo models launching in 2025 will feature the new infotainment system. Models produced since 2020 will receive a new user interface via over-the-air updates.
The powertrain for the new XC60 is expected to remain the same as before. In the U.S. market, it will offer a 2.0-liter four-cylinder mild hybrid engine B5 with a maximum output of 247 horsepower and a plug-in hybrid T8 PHEV model with 455 horsepower.
In the European market, a lower-output T6 plug-in hybrid model with 345 horsepower will also be available, with pricing expected to be revealed closer to the launch date. The exact pricing remains undisclosed but is anticipated to be announced just before the release.
