Mercedes-Benz appears to be launching a new trim for its flagship SUV to enhance its 2025 SUV portfolio. The new trims will be available for the GLC, GLC Coupe, GLE Coupe, and GLS, which represent the main lineup of Benz SUVs. Reports indicate that a total of four new 2025 SUV models will be added.
According to Benz sources, the prices reflecting the reduction in individual consumption tax are as follows: GLC 300 4MATIC Avantgarde at 7,880,000 KRW (approximately $5,910 USD), GLC 300 4MATIC Coupe at 8,280,000 KRW (approximately $6,260 USD), GLE 450 4MATIC Coupe at 13,760,000 KRW (approximately $10,460 USD), and GLS 450 4MATIC at 15,360,000 KRW (approximately $11,640 USD).
The GLE 450 4MATIC Coupe will begin deliveries in January, while the other three models will roll out starting in March. Consequently, Benz plans to expand its lineup of mid-size and large SUVs from six to ten models. This expansion will provide customers with a wider range of options tailored to individual preferences in design and powertrains.
Additionally, the new models will feature a 48V mild hybrid system, allowing them to qualify as low-emission vehicles. They will also come equipped with advanced safety and convenience features that are popular in the domestic market. Furthermore, the latest driving assistance systems will be included as standard.
In the mid-size SUV segment, the GLC 300 4MATIC and GLC 300 4MATIC Coupe will now feature the Avantgarde design alongside the existing AMG line design. These models will incorporate a four-cylinder gasoline powertrain, delivering a maximum output of 258 horsepower and peak torque of 40.8 kg·m. The entire lineup of the 2025 GLC and GLC Coupe will include the latest third-generation MBUX system and T-map Auto, a vehicle navigation system based on T-map.
In the large SUV segment, the GLE Coupe will introduce the GLE 450 4MATIC Coupe as a gasoline model, offering diverse powertrain options. This model boasts a maximum output of 381 horsepower and peak torque of 51 kg·m. It will also feature the AMG line design elements, including a Mercedes-Benz-pattern diamond radiator grille and chrome trim, along with signature headlights designed with four lighting points.
The GLS 450 4MATIC will join the large SUV segment, equipped with a six-cylinder gasoline engine that delivers a maximum output of 381 horsepower and peak torque of 51 kg·m. The AMG line exterior design will enhance its aesthetic appeal, featuring a grille with four horizontal bars and a uniquely designed bumper that contributes to its luxurious front appearance.
The second-row comfort features will also include a variety of enhancements. The rear seat comfort package will offer a 7.4-inch detachable MBUX tablet and a wide center armrest with wireless charging capabilities. As expected from a flagship model, both the first and second-row seats will come equipped with multi-contour seating that includes air chambers, heating functions, and lumbar massage features.
