Renault Korea has revealed its outlook for the Aurora2. The company plans to launch the Aurora2 as a mid-size coupe SUV, which will be larger than the Aurora1, featuring enhanced specifications, a hybrid powertrain, and upgraded performance and design elements.
The Aurora2 project seems to have gained momentum due to the satisfactory performance of the Aurora1. The launch is anticipated in early 2026, and the company is considering equipping it with a new powertrain based on the CMA modular platform.
The Aurora2's design is expected to maintain the sleek lines of a coupe SUV while offering practicality. Earlier this year, the company generated significant interest by releasing teaser images reminiscent of the Rafale.
However, the Renault Aurora2 is not just a domestic version of the Rafale; it is a new model. The powertrain for the Aurora2 is likely to focus on gasoline and hybrid engines, while the electric vehicle model is expected to be part of the upcoming Aurora3 project.
The Aurora3 is projected to achieve a driving range of over 600 kilometers on a single charge, with a launch anticipated in 2027. The electric vehicle market in 2027 is expected to evolve significantly compared to current trends.
Renault Korea is dedicating extensive efforts to the development of the Aurora2. The vehicle will likely showcase Renault's design, high-quality steel products from POSCO, and the CMA platform, ensuring high stability, driving performance, and fuel efficiency.
Meanwhile, Renault recently announced plans for high-end mid-size and large hybrid SUVs based on the CMA platform during the 2023 Renault Brand International Game Play. The company aims to introduce a total of eight new models across two platforms.
