The Toyota Camry Hybrid is set to launch in South Korea by the end of this year. As Toyota's flagship midsize sedan, the new full-model change Camry is expected to invigorate the midsize sedan market. Recently, Toyota Korea completed domestic certification for the 9th generation new Camry under the Ministry of Environment's vehicle emission and noise certification system.

Once the new certification is complete, the launch will proceed within three months, projecting a release by the end of the year. Some Toyota dealers have already begun pre-sales for the full-model change Camry, with official pre-orders expected to start in November. However, Toyota has stated that the schedule for the new Camry's release in Korea has not yet been finalized.

According to reports, over 1,300 units of the Toyota Camry were sold from January to September this year. This marks a decrease of approximately 9.3% compared to over 1,400 units sold during the same period last year. It raises questions about whether the new Camry can successfully turn around sales figures.

The interest in the Toyota Camry Hybrid model stems from its exclusive production and sale of hybrid powertrains. From January to September this year, a total of over 272,000 new hybrid vehicles were registered in the domestic market, reflecting a 21.7% increase from 223,000 during the same period last year.

In the domestic market, the popularity of hybrids has expanded the choices available. However, the pricing of the Camry upon its release in Korea will be a crucial factor. Reports suggest that the selling price of the new Camry in the U.S. market starts from the high 30,000,000 KRW range (approximately $22,500 USD).

The Hyundai Sonata Hybrid and K5 Hybrid, sold in Korea, are priced around 30,000,000 KRW. The larger Grandeur Hybrid and K8 Hybrid fall into the 50,000,000 KRW range.

The Honda Accord Hybrid is priced at 53,400,000 KRW. If the new Camry maintains its current price or aligns with the U.S. market pricing, it could expand its sales in the domestic market. However, as the vehicle is produced in Japan, fluctuations in the yen exchange rate may significantly impact its pricing.

The 2025 Toyota Camry Hybrid will be built on the TNGA-K platform, featuring a strong radiator design as a key characteristic of this 9th generation Camry. It will come equipped with a 12.3-inch infotainment display, supporting both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

The new Toyota Camry will include features such as ventilated seats and a 10-inch head-up display, along with the introduction of Toyota Safety Sense 3.0. It will also be equipped with automatic high beams and an Advanced Driver-Assistance System (ADAS). The popularity of hybrids in the domestic market is expected to last for the next 2 to 3 years, and if the new Camry offers competitive pricing and features, it could significantly increase consumer interest.

Additional update: Toyota announced that pre-orders for the new Camry Hybrid, launching on the 26th, will begin on the 1st. The price for the XLE trim will be set at 48,000,000 KRW (approximately $36,000 USD), while the XLE Premium trim will be priced at 53,600,000 KRW (approximately $40,000 USD).
