Tesla's new Model Y has surpassed 15,000 pre-orders in South Korea. The Model Y facelift features significant improvements in its front and rear design, interior, and performance. The domestic market will see the release of three trims: RWD, Long Range, and the Launch Series.
The Launch Series is a limited edition that includes unique features like welcome animations and a special color, Glacier Blue. The exterior boasts an LED light bar, new wheels, and upgraded taillights. Inside, the materials provide comfort and quietness, featuring ventilated front seats and an 8-inch rear display.
The second row features power folding seats and spacious headrests. The Long Range and Launch Series models can travel up to 296 miles, while the RWD model offers a range of 248 miles. The prices are set at 52.99 million KRW (approximately $39,900 USD) for the RWD, 63.14 million KRW (about $47,800 USD) for the Long Range, and 73 million KRW (around $54,600 USD) for the Launch Series. After applying subsidies, the actual purchase prices will decrease slightly.
Meanwhile, the RWD and Long Range AWD models cater to practicality and performance, making trim selection a tough decision. The new Model Y RWD stands out for its price competitiveness, offering a maximum range of 248 miles and an efficiency of 5.6 km/kWh.
The rear-wheel-drive structure remains simple yet highly efficient. The Model Y achieves 0 to 60 mph in about 6.9 seconds, providing excellent performance for daily use. The new Model Y Long Range AWD, priced at 63.14 million KRW (approximately $47,800 USD), features a dual-motor all-wheel drive system.
The Model Y provides powerful driving performance and safety. It boasts a range of up to 296 miles and an efficiency of 5.4 km/kWh. The 0 to 60 mph time is 5.0 seconds, with a maximum output of 250 kW, while the RWD model offers 170 kW.
Both trims offer five-passenger seating and 2,158 liters of cargo space. They come standard with a 15-inch central touchscreen, ambient lighting, premium interior materials, and ventilated front seats. The Long Range AWD model includes an 8-year or 192,000 km warranty for the battery and drive unit, while the RWD model offers a 160,000 km warranty. Tesla will begin delivering the new Model Y to customers in May.
