The Kia Seltos full redesign and hybrid model have captured significant interest overseas. While it may not be Kia's most successful SUV, the Seltos consistently records solid sales in the global market. The second-generation Kia Seltos is set to launch soon.

The latest spy shots of the new Seltos suggest it will adopt a vertical grille design inspired by the Tasman mid-size pickup truck. Notably, the new Seltos is likely to debut first in Europe.

The test vehicle for the new Seltos, captured in the Alps, shows it covered in camouflage while being towed. It might replace the Stonic in the European market, but Kia's main engineering and design hub in Europe is at the Hyundai Motor Europe Technical Center in Rüsselsheim, Germany.

The second-generation Seltos features production-ready alloy wheels and showcases a more angular design overall, promising a sportier appearance compared to its predecessor.

The body has grown larger, and the exterior lighting design emphasizes the vehicle's width, helping it avoid overlap with the Niro hybrid in the subcompact SUV market. The robust look of the new Seltos harmonizes beautifully with the futuristic elements seen in Kia's electric SUV lineup. While it remains uncertain if Kia will incorporate electric SUV features in the interior, it seems likely that elements from the Kia EV3 and EV4 will make an appearance.

Known as the SP3, the second-generation Kia Seltos project is highly likely to launch in the first quarter of 2026. This new model will feature two hybrid options: a 1.5-liter engine for the Indian market and a 1.6-liter engine for other global markets.

The new model is expected to feature an e-AWD system in the European market. Given that competitors Toyota and Lexus equip various hybrid vehicles with rear-wheel drive systems, the likelihood of the e-AWD system being included seems to be increasing.

Meanwhile, reports indicate that mass production at Kia's Autoland Gwangju plant will begin in August, with a domestic launch planned for January 2026. The newly added hybrid model will likely combine a 1.6-liter gasoline engine with an electric motor, similar to the structure found in the Hyundai Kona Hybrid or Kia Niro Hybrid.

In this case, the system output is expected to be around 141 horsepower, with high fuel efficiency anticipated. The new Kia Seltos full redesign promises not only a simple design change but also the introduction of new hybrid technology and a 4WD system, showcasing significant advancements.
