Kia has expanded the options for its flagship eco-friendly SUV, the Niro, by adding a new trim called Best Selection to its hybrid lineup. This trim is designed to cater to first-time car buyers and budget-conscious consumers by including essential safety features as standard.

The Best Selection trim builds on the existing Prestige trim by incorporating popular safety and convenience features. It includes key safety specifications such as Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist and Smart Cruise Control, as well as standard features like projection LED headlights, LED turn signals, and LED reverse lights.

In the case of the Niro EV model, all trims now come standard with the V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) function. If customers opt for the Comfort package, they will receive features such as dual-layer acoustic glass for the second row and a suede headlining, further enhancing the vehicle's appeal.

Meanwhile, interest in the new Niro has surged as anticipated images of the refreshed compact SUV have surfaced. These renderings showcase the latest design elements from Kia, including vertical headlights and star map signature lighting. Overall, the design appears to be based on Kia's EV3 and the new Sportage.

The new Niro's front end will undergo significant design changes, including updates to the headlights and radiator grille, expected to be at the level of a full redesign. The headlights will feature star map signature lighting for a cohesive family look. Additionally, the design will incorporate the Tiger Nose grille and integrated skid plates for the air intakes.

The side profile of the new Niro is expected to feature updated wheel designs. However, changes to the rear end are anticipated to be less extensive compared to the front. The taillights will maintain their placement along the D-pillar line, similar to the current model, but the internal graphics will be updated to create a fresh look.

The interior of the Niro facelift is also expected to see changes, including a column-type electronic gear lever, a new steering wheel, the latest ccNC infotainment system, and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).

However, no changes are expected in the powertrain. The hybrid model will continue to use a 1.6-liter gasoline-based system, achieving a maximum combined fuel efficiency of over 47 miles per gallon. Kia predicts that the refreshed Niro will launch in the second half of 2025, and prices are expected to increase somewhat.
