Please take note! ~
Let's dive into today's post!
The star of the day is the Mercedes-Benz E400 model,
equipped with a 3.0 gasoline engine, M276.
* For reference, the E200 and E300 have a 2.0 gasoline engine, M274.
The only difference lies in the oil quantity and some filters, but they share almost all consumables.
The E400 owner previously visited a service center but decided to try a private maintenance shop for the first time.
They wanted to address the oil additives that the center overlooked.
The owner requested a set of Bosch Aerotwin wipers at a reasonable price,
They also asked for both interior and exterior air conditioning filters.
Let's replace the air cleaner too!
When changing the engine oil, we also replace the air filter, which helps filter out impurities from the incoming air.
This filter also affects the air flow and volume.
The E200 and E300 use one set, while the E400 requires two sets.
Next, we'll change the oil filter.
Malhe is known for having excellent OEM filters, making it safe and affordable to maintain!
The original filter is only necessary during the break-in period for new cars.
When we gently remove the undercover, we can see the oil pan.
If we open the drain cock, the old oil will flow out.
It takes some time for the oil to drain, so during this time,
we also conduct a complimentary inspection!
Briefly, we check the coolant level for leaks,
We also recommended oil additives.
However, the owner preferred a basic setup with just oil additives, so we tailored our service accordingly!
Trustworthy brands like Berry Lube are what we use.
The E400 requires about 6.5 liters of oil,
meeting the specifications with Granville 5W30 synthetic oil.
After adding a full bottle of washer fluid, we're all done!
It's not that hard, right?!
If you remember to change the oil, don't forget to reset the service interval too!
Mercedes recommends every 15,000 miles for all models! Honestly, 10,000 miles is optimal, but it seems like all imported cars are set to 15,000 miles.
After finishing the oil change, we also consider the summer season!
It's a strange habit to save on car air conditioning.
Once a year, I suggest doing it together with the engine oil change.
This will help eliminate odors and fine dust.
However, replacing the filters in all W213 E-Class models can be a bit tricky compared to regular cars.
One of my favorite features of the Mercedes-Benz is its intricate functionalities.
Thank you!
