The owner of a Mercedes-Benz GLB35 AMG has requested an engine oil change. Although it features a 2.0-liter engine, it is a high-performance AMG model. The latest specifications recommended by the service center are available, so I provide a thorough explanation before proceeding with the work!
The car owner emphasized “value for money” as a key focus in the recommendations
I will post about this~

This is "Gioca."
The GLB35 AMG features the high-performance M260 inline 6-cylinder AMG version, showcasing optimal performance with an 8-speed DCT transmission in this compact SUV model.
As a reference, the A35 AMG has the same specifications but uses a 7DCT transmission. You can feel the difference in performance just by driving it!
Anyway, the time has come for this vehicle's engine oil change.
The dashboard displayed a message saying "Service A1 due," and the adjacent monitor even suggested making a reservation at the service center, haha.
Mercedes-Benz... is business not going well!? They have included some strange features...
I checked how much the GLB35 has driven in detail.
At just over a year old, it has slightly exceeded 10,000 kilometers (approximately 6,213 miles).
It is indeed time to manage the oil!
The recommended components I suggested offer great value for money, right?!
The air cleaner, oil filter, and three types of synthetic oil, along with an air conditioning filter, are included in the additional package.
What about the washer fluid?! One bottle is complimentary~
Regarding engine oil, for the GLB35, the center recommends using 0W-20 with the MB229.71 specification, but
This is just a recommendation; the specifications allow for .61, .51, and .52 to be used as well.
This means you can choose from a viscosity range of 0W-20 to 5W-40 according to your preference!
Well, with a power output of around 300 horsepower, this is a given, right? You can tell just by looking at the above photo!
We have various products available, but today I recommended the Raphaelo 5W-30, which provides average performance in power output, fuel efficiency, and durability.
And the air cleaner... wow, it's so dirty, right?!
The air entering the engine carries many foreign substances, so this filter is designed to trap them before they enter.
Did it even get replaced once since it was delivered? Its condition is terrible.
By saving on just one filter, you risk the performance of a car worth thousands of dollars, increasing the likelihood of breakdowns...
Using the manual as an excuse... WHY don't they replace it?! It's ironic, haha.
Anyway, we always use new parts for our estimates and work!
The filters from other vehicles, like the Mercedes S450, were also in terrible condition.
Mercedes and imported car owners, please take good care of your vehicles!
Now, I will install the oil filter.
Three new O-rings will go in, and using the torque wrench and parts, I will finish up.
Once I complete this, the engine compartment process will be mostly done.
Next, I will remove the under cover and begin draining the oil!
When I checked the oil change interval initially, I expected it to be dirty since it has been used for a long time, haha.
I noticed the new 8-DCT next to the engine.
I didn't notice anything unusual.
The front brake pads have about the same mileage left as the warning light suggests?!
When you see the alert, just make a reservation and come in!
I will provide you with a rough estimate in advance, haha.
I will now pour in the engine oil.
Of course, I remember the manual oil amount, haha.
(For electronic gauge methods, this is essential!)
I will do the first pour, ensuring the oil circulates well and reaches the proper temperature range for measurement before starting the engine.
I will change the air conditioning filter.
The engine oil set does not include this, and I provide it at an additional cost~
Many people ask about the air conditioning filter replacement interval!?
I recommend changing it once a year!
Although it's an air conditioning filter, it also filters dust and foreign substances when the heater operates, so it is in use year-round!?
Two years... three years... you can use it as you wish, but...
Breathing dirty air in a confined car without realizing it can’t be good for your health...
Can you imagine the state of the above filter?! Haha.;)
Especially for vehicles like the GLB35 with air purification features, the replacement cycle should be shorter!
Remember this~
I will reset the system as well.
And how about measuring the oil level?!
You can monitor the oil level by pressing "Measure Oil Level" in the service menu and waiting!
Finish up after setting it to MAX.
* The proper range is between 2/3 and MAX, and just consider the margin of error when filling based on the manual oil amount!
Now, I will finish up, but there are too many leaves accumulated in the engine room, so I will clean them up with an air gun!
You might not know this service, haha.
Even if you don't see it, I will still do it...~
If it’s clean?! I’ll pass, haha.
I will finish the engine oil change for the Mercedes-Benz GLB35.
I believe I have covered everything without missing anything!
The total work time was approximately 50 minutes. The vehicles with electronic gauge measurement take a bit longer, haha.
While it may seem like every repair shop does the same thing, the difference lies in the skills, know-how, and recommended products—especially when it comes to engine oil work!
I have shown you as many details as possible regarding what we provide.
If you want to do the same work, you are always welcome!
It's by appointment, so just contact us and come in.
This concludes today's post! I want to thank the owner of the GLB35 for visiting... will you come back when the brake pads wear out?! Haha.
I will wrap it up.
