A Maserati Ghibli 3.0 gasoline model
A customer came in reporting strange noises from the engine compartment.
Upon inspection, I found that the noises were due to the belt set... creaking sounds.
Additionally, the oil separator emitted a beeping noise.
Both issues occurred simultaneously.
Since I identified the causes,
I’ll provide an estimate... Oh no, the price is high.
The biggest issue with Maserati maintenance is the cost.
Since Maserati doesn't have affordable alternatives for genuine parts,
I can't find a cheaper solution.
In such cases, the service center prices
don't differ much from independent shops,
They often recommend center repairs...
The Ghibli owner simply asked me to proceed.
Trusting me with the work,
I quickly ordered the necessary parts
and scheduled the maintenance.

The belt set consists of two idler pulleys, one tensioner,
two belts (the type without a power pump requires
an additional larger idler, but...
the price is too high, so I’ll skip it... it costs about $400.
The oil separator is prepared as a single unit,
depending on the case, an assembly order might be necessary.

I immediately removed the parts to
identify the exact cause.
As heard in the video, the sound originated from the tensioner idler.
The belt itself hardened and cracked, causing the noise...
Both issues combined created the problem.
And the belt noise has completely disappeared.
The next oil separator replacement

I disassembled it to check and took a photo!
However, the head cover needs to be replaced as it comes assembled.

I approached it thinking it would be straightforward, but
the hose wouldn’t come off, making it quite a struggle.
Finally, the installation is complete!
The belt noise has completely vanished.
