Hello.
I am Uniji (Yukapost), an automotive influencer.
Hyundai Motor Company has introduced the '2025 Porter2 Electric,' aiming to lead the domestic small electric truck market and strengthen its leadership in the electric commercial vehicle sector. This new model incorporates customer feedback to address issues identified in previous versions, and it is set to compete directly with rival vehicles like the Kia Bongo EV and Chevrolet Bolt EV.
The most significant change in the 2025 Porter2 Electric is its groundbreaking improvement in charging speed. In response to customer complaints about slow charging, Hyundai increased the battery charging current, reducing fast charging time from 47 minutes to just 32 minutes. This speed is notably faster than the Kia Bongo EV, which features a high-performance 60.4 kWh lithium-ion battery that provides a driving range of 135 miles. By utilizing new battery cells that enhance weight reduction and energy density, Hyundai maximized operational efficiency. (Based on 100 kW fast charging)
Additionally, Hyundai added LED lighting to the charging port and optimized the vehicle's ground clearance, significantly enhancing nighttime charging convenience and overall usability. The 2025 Porter2 Electric also addresses the inconvenience of low battery ground clearance when driving on unpaved rural roads by raising it by 0.4 inches and improving visibility during nighttime charging with additional LED lights at the top of the charging port.
Furthermore, Hyundai has introduced a cost-effective trim called 'Style Special' for the 2025 Porter2 Electric. Priced at 32,500 USD, it is 1.1 million KRW cheaper than the Smart Special trim, making it appealing to budget-conscious customers. This trim maintains essential specifications while offering excellent value for money.
The sales prices for the 2025 Porter2 Electric are as follows: ▲ Style Special 32,500 USD ▲ Smart Special 33,500 USD ▲ Premium Special 34,500 USD. Additionally, Hyundai will implement a tailored program for Porter2 Electric customers called 'EV Biz Care.' Customers can choose from options such as a 500,000 KRW credit, home charger installation, or additional charging support services, depending on the charging infrastructure available in their area. Hyundai will also introduce a fire safety program that compensates up to 100 million KRW for electric vehicle fires, alongside offering free inspections for ten years through the 'Blue Care Inspection' program.
With the launch of the Porter2 Electric, equipped with fast charging speeds, high cost-effectiveness, and excellent service, Hyundai plans to solidify its position as a leader in the electric small truck market. A Hyundai representative stated, "The 2025 Porter2 Electric, with its improved charging speed, practicality, safety, and outstanding value, is expected to provide customers with enhanced business opportunities." We appreciate your valuable feedback in the comments, and we wish you a joyful and happy day as we conclude this post.
