BMW has unveiled the limited edition 'M3 CS Touring,' which boasts powerful performance and dynamic driving sensations.
The M3 CS Touring features a 3.0-liter inline-six engine designed with racing technology.
This engine, equipped with BMW's M TwinPower Turbo technology, boasts a maximum boost pressure of 2.1 bar, delivering 550 horsepower—20 more than the existing M3 Competition Touring—and a peak torque of 650 Nm. It accelerates from 0 to 62 mph in just 3.5 seconds and reaches 124 mph in only 11.7 seconds. The top speed is electronically limited to 186 mph.
Additionally, the vehicle includes a super rigid crankcase, a forged lightweight crankshaft, and a cylinder head made using 3D printing technology. BMW optimized the cooling and lubrication systems for high-performance driving.
The M3 CS Touring combines an M-specific all-wheel-drive system with tailored chassis technology.
The vehicle pairs an 8-speed M Steptronic automatic transmission with the M xDrive all-wheel-drive system to deliver impressive driving power. The rear-wheel-drive-based M xDrive distributes power variably between the front and rear axles through an electronic multi-plate clutch, while the Active M Differential maintains optimal traction. The 4WD Sport mode enhances a rear-wheel-focused driving feel, and by disabling the Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), drivers can enjoy pure rear-wheel-drive performance in 2WD mode.
The adaptive M suspension and M Servotronic steering system have been fine-tuned for this model, ensuring robust performance even on the track through the M Dynamic Mode (DSM) and integrated braking systems.
The M Compound brakes come standard, available in red or black caliper options, and buyers can also choose M Carbon ceramic brakes.
The BMW M3 CS Touring features a lightweight design and aerodynamic styling.
The vehicle extensively uses carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic (CFRP) to reduce weight. CFRP appears in the hood, front splitter, air intakes, mirror caps, and rear diffuser, as well as in the M Carbon bucket seats, gear shift paddles, and center console. This lightweight design achieves a weight reduction of approximately 33 pounds compared to the standard M3 Competition Touring.
The M3 CS Touring offers four exterior color options: 'British Racing Green,' 'Laguna Seca Blue,' 'Frozen Solid White,' and 'Sapphire Black.' It features a carbon roof and a black high-gloss roof spoiler, creating a striking design. Notably, the LED headlights incorporate yellow daytime running lights reminiscent of GT racing cars, emphasizing the racing DNA.
Additionally, the front of the vehicle showcases a black kidney grille outlined in red, enhancing its bold presence, along with a large front bumper and spoiler designed for aerodynamics. Buyers can select 19-inch (front) and 20-inch (rear) forged wheels in matte black or gold bronze, equipped with high-performance tires for track driving.
The interior reflects a racing-inspired design.
The cabin is driver-focused, featuring M Carbon bucket seats with power adjustment and heating as standard. The seats come in black and red Merino leather, while the door panels are finished in black leather. The M Alcantara steering wheel adds a racing touch with a red marker at the 12 o'clock position, and the center console displays the 'CS' logo.
The latest BMW iDrive system, based on BMW Operating System 8.5, comes standard, providing intuitive access to various vehicle information through a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14.9-inch central display.
The M Drive Professional system is included, featuring M Drift Analyzer and M Lap Timer functions tailored for track driving.
Convenience and safety features
The M3 CS Touring comes standard with BMW Live Cockpit Professional, which includes an M-specific head-up display, BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant, and BMW Maps cloud navigation system. It also supports wireless charging and Wi-Fi hotspot functionality, with a Harman Kardon surround sound system as standard equipment.
The driver assistance systems include lane departure warning, forward collision warning, and speed limit information as standard features, while parking assistant and driving assistant packages are available as options.
