The Kia Ray, a well-known boxy compact car in the domestic market, first hit the streets in 2011. Since its launch, it has gained popularity for its spacious interior and versatility, making it a top choice for urban driving and family use, thanks to its high ceiling and roomy seating arrangement.
Meanwhile, on the 2nd, Kia officially launched the updated model of its representative compact car, the Ray, and began full-scale sales. The refreshed '2025 Ray' features an expanded range of premium safety and convenience options to enhance its market competitiveness.
In addition, Kia has improved the Ray EV passenger model by standardizing the 'Drive Wise I' package, which includes Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA) for vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists, Lane Keeping Assist (LFA), and cruise control. They also equipped all trims with a heated leather steering wheel featuring a black high-gloss finish, enhancing its appeal.
Additionally, the Ray EV passenger air trim now includes the 'Drive Wise II' package, which features Blind-Spot Collision Warning (BCW), Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist (RCCA), and Safe Exit Warning (SEW). The 'Style' package, which comes standard with projection headlamps, LED daytime running lights, LED rear combination lamps, and LED auxiliary brake lights, enhances both safety and design quality.
By significantly enhancing the base features of the Ray EV while maintaining prices across all trims, Kia has effectively secured a competitive edge in the market. For the gasoline-powered Ray models, they have also introduced full automatic air conditioning and air purification mode starting from the Prestige trim to provide a comfortable interior environment. The higher Signature trim now includes an Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) as standard, along with an upgraded Front Collision-Avoidance Assist feature that recognizes cyclists, improving safety.
Kia also included the Electronic Parking Brake as an option in the Style package, making it available from the base Trendy trim. They equipped all Ray models with an interior fire extinguisher and upgraded the horn to a dual-tone system for a more substantial sound.
To expand customer design options, Kia introduced a new exterior color called 'Adventurous Green' and launched a 'Gray Two-Tone Package' that applies gray film to the roof and A-pillars, allowing for greater customization of the Kia Ray.
The prices for the Ray EV match those of the previous models, starting at 27,750,000 KRW (approximately $21,000 USD) for the four-passenger Light trim, 29,550,000 KRW (approximately $22,500 USD) for the Air trim, and 27,450,000 KRW (approximately $21,000 USD) for the two-passenger van Light trim. The one-passenger van Light trim starts at 27,350,000 KRW (approximately $20,900 USD), and the Air trim is priced at 27,800,000 KRW (approximately $21,200 USD).
For the gasoline 1.0 model, the prices for the passenger Trendy trim start at 14,000,000 KRW (approximately $10,500 USD), Prestige at 16,750,000 KRW (approximately $12,600 USD), Signature at 18,330,000 KRW (approximately $13,800 USD), and Gravity at 19,280,000 KRW (approximately $14,600 USD). The two-passenger van Trendy starts at 13,500,000 KRW (approximately $10,200 USD), Prestige at 14,000,000 KRW (approximately $10,500 USD), and Prestige Special at 14,300,000 KRW (approximately $10,800 USD). The one-passenger van Trendy starts at 13,400,000 KRW (approximately $10,200 USD), Prestige at 13,900,000 KRW (approximately $10,500 USD), and Prestige Special at 14,150,000 KRW (approximately $10,700 USD).
The refreshed 2025 Kia Ray reflects customer feedback by incorporating popular features as standard across trims, allowing it to cater to a wider range of preferences and lifestyles.
