BMW Korea has unveiled the facelifted model of its high-performance sports sedan, the 'New M3'.
The BMW New M3 Competition sedan and touring models showcase a sharper design with adaptive LED headlights, a frame-less kidney grille, and M light shadow lines that exude a striking charisma.
The high-gloss M shadow line enhances the vehicle's exterior, emphasizing BMW M's luxurious appeal. Additionally, the New M3 Competition sedan and touring models come equipped with rear and roof spoilers.
Inside, the BMW curved display features a 12.3-inch information display and a 14.9-inch control display. The 'Illuminated Air Vent' adds lighting to the air vents, while a new M leather steering wheel and Merino leather seats enhance the interior.
Notably, the BMW New M3 Competition sedan and touring models feature the latest operating system, 'BMW Operating System 8.5 (BMW OS 8.5)', which offers a new and convenient user experience. This system supports an intuitive 'Quick Select' feature, allowing users to access the infotainment system easily without navigating through submenus.
Other standard features include a three-zone automatic climate control system, BMW Digital Key, BMW M seat belts, a Harman Kardon surround system, and the BMW Live Cockpit Professional with intelligent personal assistant capabilities.
Meanwhile, the BMW M3 has gained immense popularity in the domestic automotive market since its initial launch in 1986, establishing itself as the flagship model of the high-performance M brand. The newly unveiled BMW New M3 Competition sedan and touring models incorporate new design elements and enhance user convenience while boosting power compared to previous models.
The New M3 Competition sedan and touring models achieve a maximum output of 530 horsepower, an increase of 20 horsepower compared to previous models, with a peak torque of 66.3 kg·m. The M TwinPower Turbo inline six-cylinder gasoline engine pairs with an M Steptronic Sport 8-speed automatic transmission, showcasing distinct high performance within the BMW brand.
As a result, the BMW sixth-generation New M3 Competition sedan and touring models boast impressive acceleration, achieving 0 to 60 mph in just 3.5 seconds and 3.6 seconds, respectively, making them standout high-performance vehicles from BMW.
Particularly, the New M3 Competition sedan and touring models enhance torsional rigidity by applying struts and reinforcement panels in the engine compartment and front and rear axles. This improvement provides precise handling performance. The models come standard with 19-inch front and 20-inch rear M forged wheels, enabling agile handling and high traction, ensuring stable control even in extreme driving conditions.
The BMW New M3 Competition sedan and touring models, representing BMW's high-performance vehicles, are priced at approximately 13.58 million KRW (about $10,000 USD) and 13.76 million KRW (about $10,300 USD), respectively, reflecting a slight increase from previous prices. Meanwhile, the M3 Competition models currently available in the domestic market offer discounts close to 20 million KRW (about $15,000 USD), making the effective purchase price around the low $40,000 range. This trend is expected to continue.
