Meanwhile, the impressive sales performance of the Genesis G90 as a corporate vehicle likely results from the ongoing promotion of its various appealing features. The recently unveiled Genesis G90 Black is the first model to apply the brand's authentic black design concept, "Genesis Black." It features a fully blacked-out interior and exterior, including the front bumper grill, radiator grill, front emblem, DLO molding, and brake calipers. The 'G90 Black' comes with exclusive 21-inch dark sputtering wheels and floating wheel caps. Moreover, the rear design showcases a dark metallic Genesis lettering emblem positioned centrally at the back, presenting a distinct look unique to Genesis Black.
Additionally, as a representative of domestic flagship large sedans, the Genesis G90 deserves attention for its attractive convenience features. It is the only model in the Genesis lineup equipped with air suspension, featuring a multi-chamber air suspension system that other Genesis models envy. This setup allows drivers to experience a significant difference in ride comfort and driving dynamics.
The 'Easy Close' feature, which allows users to open and close the doors with a button rather than pulling them, is the first of its kind in a domestic vehicle. This technology, also found in the BMW 7 Series, has recently been incorporated into the newly unveiled Genesis G80 Electric model, indicating a growing trend in the brand's offerings.
Furthermore, due to the large body length typical of flagship sedans, many models, including the Genesis G90, are rear-wheel drive, resulting in a larger turning radius than standard vehicles. The starting price for the Genesis G90, equipped with a 3.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine, is approximately $72,000 (9,540,000 KRW). This relatively affordable price compared to imported brands, which start at around $100,000, enhances its appeal. The current Genesis G90 lineup features an 8-speed automatic transmission that delivers a maximum output of 380 horsepower and a torque of 54.0 kg·m, achieving a commendable fuel efficiency of 22 mpg (9.3 km/L). The higher model with a mild hybrid system combines the existing 3.5-liter turbo engine with a 48V mild hybrid starter and generator, along with a 48V electric supercharger, resulting in a powerful output of 415 horsepower and maximum torque of 56.0 kg·m, allowing drivers to experience a large sedan with over 400 horsepower.
The 'G90 Black,' while slightly more expensive than the base G90, offers appealing design elements at a price of approximately $104,000 (13,800,000 KRW). When selecting options for the Genesis G90, the price can increase significantly, making the G90 Black, with its rich foundational features, an attractive choice.
Meanwhile, Genesis showcased the flagship large sedan G90 Black at the '2024 Busan Mobility Show' held on June 27, attracting consumer interest. Recently, news of the G90 Magma, based on the Genesis G90, has also surfaced, suggesting that interest in the Genesis G90 will continue for some time.
