On the 1st, Kia launched the 2024 Mohave.
The Kia Mohave belongs to Kia's premium lineup alongside the Kia Stinger and K9. However, with the recent discontinuation of the Stinger, many expect the Mohave to be the next model to be phased out.
Nonetheless, contrary to expectations of being discontinued, the Mohave quietly unveiled its 2024 model.
The 2024 Mohave boasts unwavering confidence.
The 2024 Mohave introduces new models based on the standard Platinum trim, including the Gravity, Masters, and Masters-based Gravity.
As Kia launched the 2024 Mohave, it also raised vehicle prices.
The price of the Mohave Platinum trim increased from 49.58 million KRW (approximately 37,200 USD) to 50.16 million KRW (approximately 37,800 USD). Meanwhile, the Masters trim remains at the same price as the 2023 model at 54.93 million KRW (approximately 41,100 USD). However, the Masters-based Gravity model saw a price increase of 780,000 KRW (approximately 590 USD), bringing its total to 59.49 million KRW (approximately 44,600 USD), making it the most expensive option.
Meanwhile, the 2024 Mohave enhances its basic offerings by including a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster as standard.
The Masters trim, which did not see a price increase, also maintains its previous options. The Masters-based Gravity now comes standard with a head-up display, while the newly introduced Platinum-based Gravity features exclusive specifications such as 20-inch black wheels, grille molding, and fog lamps.
However, a disappointing aspect of the 2024 Mohave is the lack of changes to its powertrain.
The existing V6 3.0-liter diesel engine paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission continues to deliver a maximum output of 257 horsepower and peak torque of 57.1 kg/m (approximately 420 lb-ft), while achieving a combined fuel efficiency of 9.3 km/L (approximately 21.9 MPG).
Additionally, the Kia Mohave maintains its popularity due to its robust and commanding SUV body size and attractive design.
The Mohave’s frame body adds to its ruggedness, distinguishing it from other models.
