Despite the global economic downturn, Porsche's new car sales in 2022 reached 300,884 units, marking a 3% increase compared to 2021.

The Cayenne

The Porsche Cayenne is the best-selling model in Korea among all Porsche vehicles.

The Cayenne has earned the nickname 'Gangnam Santa Fe' due to its popularity among the affluent, and recently, sales of both the third-generation and coupe models have surged.

Interestingly, the Cayenne has a stronger brand recognition compared to the Audi Q7, which shares the same platform. This higher brand image has led to the Cayenne being more visible on the roads and selling more units than the Q7.

If I were to choose an SUV in the price range of 100 million KRW (approximately $75,000 USD), I would opt for the Porsche Cayenne.

The Macan took second place among Porsche models. After the success of the Cayenne and Panamera, Porsche introduced the Macan as a compact urban SUV model in 2013, and it continues to enjoy consistent popularity.

The Macan's exterior design resembles that of the Cayenne, and it offers a more affordable way to experience a Porsche SUV, typically priced under 100 million KRW (around $75,000 USD). However, the 3.0 gasoline turbo model's price is similar to that of the base Cayenne, leading some to view it as expensive.

Nonetheless, the fact that you can purchase a Porsche Macan in the 80 million KRW range (approximately $60,000 USD) is a positive aspect.

However, if you start adding options, you might find yourself facing a price close to 100 million KRW for the Porsche Macan.

The Porsche 911 stands out with its fastback design, reminiscent of a frog, showcasing Porsche's design identity effectively.

This model features a horizontally opposed engine and rear-engine layout, maintaining a 2+2 seating arrangement, though the rear seats may feel cramped for average-sized adults.
