Hyundai Motor has created a concept model called the 'Heritage Series Grandeur' to celebrate the 35th anniversary of its flagship sedan, the Grandeur.

After an eight-month development period that began in April of last year, the Grandeur Heritage evokes nostalgia and emotion for middle-aged consumers who remember the original Grandeur, while also delivering the unique charm of 'retro-futurism' to younger generations familiar with the futuristic parametric grille of the latest Grandeur.

The Grandeur Heritage preserves the simple body design of the original Grandeur while redesigning elements such as the grille, wheels, outside mirrors, and molding with a pixelated lamp.

The Grandeur Heritage features an electric drivetrain made up of a battery and motor instead of an internal combustion engine, and it reinterprets the clean, linear aesthetics and luxurious interior using today's technology.

The seats in the Grandeur Heritage serve as a key material connecting the original Grandeur and the Heritage Series Grandeur.

Velvet, which is rarely used in modern cars, was once considered a premium material, comparable to Alcantara or Napa leather, during the era when the original Grandeur was sold.

The seats, wrapped in leather on the outside to enhance luxury, provide a comfortable seating experience and a soft touch through the velvet material.

This use of different materials in a single component draws inspiration from the original Grandeur's door trim, which combined velvet and fabric.

The digital display at the bottom of the center fascia offers intriguing entertainment features.

This system includes a digital piano function, allowing passengers to enjoy music inside the car.

This feature, developed in collaboration with Samick Musical Instruments, stems from the observation that famous artists sometimes compose music in their cars rather than in studios.

Given that people have been spending more time in their cars due to COVID-19, this idea enhances the overall vehicle experience.

The key theme of the Grandeur Heritage is 'light.'

A beam of light originating from the ends of the dashboard flows through the B-pillar, illuminating the interior and showcasing the highlight of this concept model.

When the light reaches the location of the speakers, it reveals the silhouette of the speaker units, providing visual enjoyment for passengers with a playful gimmick.

The ceiling features stunning lighting that utilizes the reflective effect of parallel mirrors, commonly known as 'infinity mirrors,' adding a unique touch.

This design enhances the sense of infinite space above, making the interior appear more spacious.

Additionally, the edges of the lighting module are finished with soft indirect lighting and wooden materials to maximize luxury.

The bronze-colored lights filling the interior evoke a retro hue often seen in vintage audio equipment using vacuum tubes,

creating a subtle and sensory atmosphere.
