Hello.
I am Uniji (YukaPost), an automotive influencer.
Volvo Cars Korea announced that starting April 17 at 10 AM, they will offer the premium all-electric SUV 'EX 30 Moss Yellow Edition' for a limited sale of 30 units through the Volvo Digital Shop.
The Volvo EX30 marks the brand's first foray into the premium compact electric SUV market, aiming to popularize electric vehicles. Since its debut in the European market last year, it has quickly become the best-selling model in the premium electric vehicle segment. Additionally, it proved popular in South Korea, where the initial batch of 500 units sold out upon launch in February, showcasing its potential in the domestic automotive market.
The EX30 available in South Korea features a rear-wheel-drive single-motor powertrain combining a 66 kWh nickel-cobalt-manganese (NCM) battery with a 200 kW motor. This model delivers an exhilarating driving experience, achieving 272 horsepower and a maximum torque of 35.0 kg.m, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in just 5.3 seconds. The battery, strategically positioned between the front and rear axles, achieves a nearly 50/50 weight distribution, ensuring effective protection of the vehicle's structure in case of a collision. The vehicle offers a total range of 351 km on a single charge, with an efficiency of 4.8 km/kWh. Additionally, it supports fast charging (DC) at a maximum of 153 kW, enabling a charge from 10% to 80% in approximately 28 minutes.
The newly launched EX30 Moss Yellow Edition features a unique design and materials inspired by Swedish nature. The striking exterior color 'Moss Yellow' draws inspiration from the Arctic moss found in Scandinavian forests, blending urban and natural aesthetics. The interior adopts a 'Pine' theme inspired by pine forests, creating an eco-friendly yet cozy environment. Notably, the interior incorporates natural linen fiber decor, sustainably produced all-blend materials, recycled polyester, and an innovative bio-material called 'Nordico,' made from Swedish and Finnish pine oil, enhancing its eco-friendly value.
Additionally, the EX30 Moss Yellow Edition, based on the top Ultra trim, comes equipped with premium convenience features including a fixed panoramic sunroof, driver’s electric memory seat, park pilot assist, and a 360-degree camera. It also includes a premium sound system from the world-renowned brand Harman Kardon and an advanced air purification system, enhancing passenger comfort.
Moreover, Volvo Cars Korea announced an aggressive pricing strategy, reducing the starting price of the Volvo EX30 to 4,755,000 KRW (approximately 3,570 USD) for the core trim, while the Moss Yellow Edition is priced at 5,183,000 KRW (approximately 3,910 USD) after eco-friendly tax benefits, with additional special welcome packages for limited edition buyers. Volvo also offers an industry-leading warranty of five years or 100,000 km for general parts, an eight-year or 160,000 km battery warranty, 15 years of free over-the-air updates (OTA), and a complimentary five-year 5G digital service package.
Meanwhile, competing models for the Volvo EX30 include the Mercedes-Benz EQA, BMW iX1, and Audi Q4 e-tron. The EX30 stands out particularly in design and the use of eco-friendly materials. Compared to the BMW iX1, Volvo's active use of sustainable materials and reasonable pricing has attracted a broader customer base, while its distinctive design and interior ambiance differentiate it from the Audi Q4 e-tron.
A representative from Volvo Cars stated, "We have added a unique aesthetic appeal to the limited edition EX30, which has already created a buzz in the domestic electric vehicle market. We prepared this edition to deliver special value to consumers who prioritize individuality." Volvo plans to unveil the EX30 Moss Yellow Edition for the first time at the 'Volvo Ladies' Salon' event on April 15 at FEZH in Hannam-dong, Seoul. We anticipate the impact of the EX30 Moss Yellow Edition, which combines unique aesthetics and eco-friendly values, on the domestic automotive market. We appreciate your valuable feedback in the comments and wish you a delightful and happy day as we conclude this post.
