Hello.
I'm Uniji (Yukapost), an automotive influencer.
Recently, we confirmed that Hyundai Motor's flagship sedan, the All-New Grandeur, has begun rigorous road testing ahead of its facelift. Notably, a test vehicle covered in thick camouflage was spotted on domestic roads, reigniting interest in the design changes for the new Grandeur. This facelift, occurring about three years after the complete redesign in the second half of 2022, is expected to focus on improving exterior details and enhancing certain features.
Recently, the YouTube channel 'Short Car' revealed the exterior design of the All-New Grandeur facelift test vehicle. The front vertical daytime running lights (DRL), slightly visible beneath the camouflage, inherit the signature 'Horizon Lamp' design of the current Grandeur (GN7). However, changes to the headlamp graphics and front bumper design are anticipated, along with possible adjustments to the headlamp position and modifications to the mesh grille design.
The side design remains largely unchanged from the existing All-New Grandeur, but the newly captured dynamic wheel design catches the eye. This design likely applies to the upper trim or a new trim level. Additionally, while the rear tail lamp design remains obscured by camouflage, some changes to the lamp's internal graphics or configuration seem probable. Although details of the interior design for the Grandeur facelift have yet to be revealed, we can expect a more refined and luxurious interior if additional information is released later.
Currently, plans do not include an electric vehicle (Grandeur EV) or a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) model. However, as the sales proportion of hybrid models gradually increases, there remains a possibility of introducing a new powertrain equipped with a second-generation hybrid system in the future. Following the recent full redesign of the Palisade, which has begun significant deliveries, the response from real owners regarding the Palisade hybrid has been overwhelmingly positive. This aligns with the Hyundai Motor Group's announcement of next-generation hybrids and raises expectations for new hybrid models, including those from the Genesis brand.
Meanwhile, Hyundai's flagship sedan, the All-New Grandeur, maintains an average monthly sales figure of over 8,000 units as of the first quarter of 2024, retaining its position as the number one in the mid-size sedan market. The Grandeur has evolved from being dubbed the "car of success" to embodying the identity of a "national sedan," offering a youthful design and various powertrain options that attract a wide range of buyers from their 30s to 60s. As a result, it not only outperformed the Kia K8 facelift model, "The New K8," released in the second half of 2024, but also competes against models like the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, BMW 5 Series, and Genesis G80.
Hyundai's Grandeur has consistently driven change in the mid-size market, earning the label of "historic" with every generation change or facelift. However, this facelift seems to focus on refined improvements rather than drastic changes. The launch of the Grandeur facelift model is expected to be publicly revealed by the end of 2025, with a full launch anticipated in early 2026, once again capturing attention in the domestic market. We appreciate your valuable feedback in the comments, and we hope you have a joyful and happy day as we conclude this post.
