Audi Korea has unveiled the 'New Audi A5', setting a new standard in the premium mid-size sedan market, and has started pre-orders ahead of its official launch. The preview event will take place from May 16 to 18 at Gimpo Aeropolis, offering attendees a chance to experience Audi's innovative technology firsthand.

The 'New Audi A5' is the first sedan to feature Audi's newly developed 'PPC (Progressive Performance Chassis)' platform, designed specifically for internal combustion and plug-in hybrid vehicles. This model has undergone significant changes in its platform, engine, and interior layout, elevating its identity as a premium sedan across design, technology, and performance. Notably, it has grown 67mm longer, 13mm wider, and 16mm taller than the previous A4, creating a more commanding body ratio. The low and wide body design, coupe-style roofline, and a tailgate that opens with the rear glass combine to convey luxury and sportiness.

The interior of the 'New Audi A5' creates a luxurious and sophisticated atmosphere through its 'Soft Wrap' design, which combines ergonomic design with eco-friendly materials. Audi's first switchable panoramic roof, which allows for adjustable transparency, adds a futuristic touch. Additionally, the digital infotainment system has seen significant enhancements. The 'Digital Stage', consisting of an 11.9-inch virtual cockpit, a 14.5-inch MMI touch display, and a 10.9-inch passenger display, provides an immersive driving experience. The AI-based voice recognition system, 'Audi Assistant', and the ability to install various applications through the Audi App Store support a smart driving environment.

The powertrain of the 'New Audi A5' has also become more appealing. The high-performance TFSI and TDI engines deliver refined driving sensations, combined with a Mild Hybrid Plus (MHEV Plus) system that supports up to 18kW of output, achieving both efficiency and performance. It allows for smooth driving without engine intervention during low-speed driving or stops, contributing to improved fuel efficiency. Furthermore, features like dynamic interaction lights, advanced headlights and taillights supporting eight light signatures, heated seats for all passengers, ventilated front seats, sporty seats, and an electric steering column significantly enhance the premium specifications.

Meanwhile, the 'New Audi A5' will be available in seven trims in the domestic automotive market. These include ▲A5 40 TFSI Quattro Advance, A5 40 TFSI Quattro S-Line ▲ A5 40 TFSI Quattro S-Line Black Edition ▲ A5 40 TFSI Quattro S-Line ▲A5 40 TDI Advanced ▲ A5 40 TDI Quattro S-Line. In addition to the specifications for each trim, customers can choose from four optional packages. The 'Advanced' trim includes a 'Tech Package' featuring a head-up display and a Bang & Olufsen (B&O) 3D premium sound system, which is standard on the 'S-Line' trim.

Additionally, customers can customize their vehicles with options such as the 'Brown Seat Package', which includes nutmeg brown seats and a black headliner, front seat headrest speaker package, and 'Ascari Blue' exterior color option to match their lifestyle.

The 'New Audi A5' competes with the BMW 3 Series and Mercedes-Benz C-Class. BMW emphasizes dynamic driving performance and traditional rear-wheel-based performance, while the C-Class is recognized for its interior finishes and advanced infotainment system. In contrast, Audi pursues a technology-centric premium strategy through a digitalized interior layout, various display combinations, the latest lighting technologies, and an efficient mild hybrid system. Notably, the diverse trims and option packages are praised for their careful differentiation considering consumers' lifestyles.

Ahead of the official launch of the New Audi A5, Audi Korea will host the 'Audi Experience - Audi A5 Preview' event from May 16 to 18 at Gimpo Aeropolis. Interested participants can register through the Naver reservation page, and the participation fee is 50,000 KRW (approximately $38 USD). Attendees will have the opportunity to test drive the A5 and S5, as well as experience the Q6 e-tron on public roads, making it a special occasion to explore Audi's various technologies. Additionally, pre-orders for the New A5 will be available from May 1 until the vehicle's official release through Audi's official showrooms and website, with customers who place pre-orders receiving an Audi genuine accessory package upon delivery.
