Review of the Callaway Elite Driver Test
Hello! I’m the golf influencer Double Look.
I recently had the chance to test Callaway Golf's new 2025 Elite (Elyte) driver series,
and I was pleasantly surprised by its design, feel, and distance capabilities.
Today, I will share my review of the Callaway Elite Driver along with a video,
and I’ll also provide details about the Elyte series test event.
The Callaway Elite Driver boasts an increase of up to 8 yards in distance and improved forgiveness,
igniting excitement for the start of 2025.
The design featuring a green color evokes memories of Callaway Golf's hit Epic series,
and testing it in person revealed a charm that stands apart from previous models.
I found it to be a whole new experience.
The Elite Driver features an aerodynamic design and combines an Ai 10x face structure optimized for spin and speed with a new material, the Summer Forged Carbon Crown.
The Elyte Driver comes in four variants: the standard Elite Driver, the Elite X Driver, the Elite TD (Triple Diamond) Driver,
and the Elite MaxFast Driver, catering to the increasingly diverse needs of golfers.
The drivers also distinguish between shallow face and deep face designs,
and since I personally prefer clubs with good forgiveness,
I decided to test the standard Elite Driver and the Elite X Driver.
With numerous options available, including four driver heads and dedicated shaft combinations,
I recommend considering your most important needs such as distance, forgiveness, or trajectory when attending the test event.
Before diving into the detailed review, let me introduce the unique features of the Elite lineup.
First, the standard Elite Driver is the model that balances swing speed, forgiveness, and low spin the best.
You can think of it as the most well-rounded option.
Designed for golfers seeking perfect performance, this driver features a newly upgraded head design that optimizes aerodynamics for your swing.
The Elite X Driver, with its shallow design, is the model I would recommend for those who desire maximum forgiveness and a high trajectory.
It includes an adjustable 13g weight that allows for easy self-fitting with a wrench.
The Elite TD Driver features a small head with a deep face style, which results in lower spin and excellent control, making it suitable for intermediate to advanced golfers.
Finally, the Elite Max Fast Driver is designed for golfers with medium swing speeds, featuring a lightweight design with a lighter shaft and grip for easier swings.
After testing the standard model, I decided to try one of the Elite X or Elite TD Drivers based on my experience.
I also opted to test various shaft combinations, starting with the specs I usually use.
The Elite Driver’s aerodynamic design gave it a sharp feel,
and the combination of elegant colors and carbon materials created a luxurious design.
Even though I initially tested the Elite Driver with its shallow face style,
I found it provided a stable address and shot performance.
The high carbon content made the head feel light,
and the crisp impact sensation was particularly appealing.
After a few practice swings, I jumped right into the real shots,
and I felt that even my mis-hits maintained good direction, giving me a sense of stability as an amateur.
As a weekend golfer who usually doesn’t practice enough, I appreciated the driver’s high forgiveness.
I took about ten shots without being fully warmed up,
and as usual, my shots were widely dispersed, with noticeable distance differences.
While I wanted to achieve stable driver tee shots by combining golf lessons and practice,
the constant issue of lack of time remains. 😢
Therefore, I recommend fitting the club to suit you rather than trying to correct your swing.
While I enjoyed the stability of the Elite Driver,
Peter noticed that I value forgiveness and recommended the Elite X Driver.
He also adjusted the shaft settings to promote a draw and alter the trajectory.
For reference, the shaft was a new Fujikura Ventus shaft with a matte design,
and it felt softer than the previous Blue TR model.
The Elite X Driver, known for its exceptional forgiveness, quickly began to cluster my shots after just a few swings,
and as my confidence grew, I was able to increase my swing speed during tee shots.
Even on mis-hits, I experienced minimal distance loss,
and I received clear feedback on shots that hit the sweet spot.
As I mentioned earlier, the crisp impact sensation was satisfying, which made me want to use it as my primary driver.
but Peter set up the Elite X Driver to promote a draw, and I began to see my shots clustering near the center.
When you can hit the driver well, golf becomes so much more enjoyable...
I only hit about 20 shots that day, but the first impression of this club was so positive that
I’m looking forward to the 2025 season with the Elite Driver!
The results of my driver tee shots were impressive, and it’s hard not to be smitten by this experience.
You know it’s difficult to express such satisfaction in words, right?
The test events will take place sequentially at designated official dealers until February 27,
