Check the details of the 2025 Ray model changes and make your decision.
Hello, I’m Double Bogi, an automotive influencer.
Kia Motors has made changes to the 2025 model year for the Ray gasoline and EV models, which are compact RVs.
Every time there’s a model year change, those considering a purchase can feel confused.
Today, I’ll focus on the changes made to the 2025 Ray and Ray EV models.
2025 Ray model year changes
The first changes I’ll discuss are for the 2025 Ray gasoline model.
First, the new Adventure Green exterior color, shown in the photo below, has been added.
Previously, the available colors included Clear White, Milky Beige, Astro Gray, Smoke Blue, Aqua Mint, and Aurora Black.
The new color has a slightly heavier feel compared to the existing models.
A vehicle fire extinguisher, which will become mandatory by the end of the year, has also been added.
I’ll also share the changes for each trim of the 2025 Ray.
In the Prestige trim, Kia has included a full auto air conditioning system and an air purification mode as standard features.
The Signature trim now comes standard with an EPB featuring auto-hold functionality and adds bicycle recognition to the Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA) system.
This improves both convenience and safety.
The price for the 2025 Ray gasoline model starts at 14 million KRW (approximately 10,500 USD) for the Trendy trim, 16.75 million KRW (approximately 12,500 USD) for the Prestige trim, 18.33 million KRW (approximately 13,600 USD) for the Signature trim, and 19.28 million KRW (approximately 14,300 USD) for the Gravity trim.
If you’re unsure about how much the prices have increased, I’ve summarized it in an easy-to-read table.

The price has increased by 100,000 to 630,000 KRW (approximately 75 to 475 USD) depending on the trim.
Even though the additional features focus on safety and convenience, customers will bear the cost.
The Ray enjoys high popularity among the MZ generation, who love camping and outdoor activities.
However, the price increase feels a bit disappointing.
The 2025 Ray EV improves its value without increasing the price!
On the other hand, those considering purchasing the 2025 Ray EV have received good news.
While various options come standard, the price remains unchanged, leading to significant improvements in value.
Given the current unfavorable climate in the electric vehicle market, Kia seems determined to improve the model’s value through this year’s changes.
The 2025 Ray EV now includes basic features like Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Drive Wise I (including cruise control), and a heated leather steering wheel across all trims.
This level of features would typically warrant a substantial price increase, but including them at no extra cost is excellent news for prospective buyers.
However, owners who purchased the 2024 model just before this change may not be pleased.
Kia Motors aims to expand the sales of affordable electric vehicles through this model year change.Ray EV’s Air trim has become so much more valuable that sales are expected to rise significantly.
From January to September, the Ray sold a total of 36,741 units, averaging over 4,000 units sold per month.
Given this model year change, the 2025 Ray EV is likely to see increased sales, and it’s possible that total sales for this year could surpass 50,000 units.
Finally, let’s check out the specifications and estimated pricing for both models.
