I drove the BMW M4 Competition Coupe on a ski trip combined with a food tour in Gangwon Province.

From its launch, the M4 has captured attention with its striking design and performance.

I must say, after this test drive, I recognized that this model is bound to win the hearts of people of all ages.

The BMW M4 is a popular high-performance model that excites male drivers.

The vehicle features a BMW TwinPower Turbo inline 6-cylinder gasoline engine (2,993cc), delivering a maximum output of 510 horsepower and a peak torque of 66.3 kg·m, achieving 0 to 60 mph in just 3.7 seconds.

This powerful performance is impressive.

Of course, I have also tested the M5 and M8, which offer even higher power and torque, but in terms of speed, the BMW M4 truly stands out for delivering an exhilarating fun driving experience.

Every time I pressed the accelerator, I felt the rush of acceleration throughout my body.

Additionally, the vehicle responds stably even at high speeds, allowing me to drive with confidence.

One of the key advantages of the BMW M series is the ability to customize settings for the engine, chassis, steering, and brakes based on road conditions and personal preferences.

When driving in the city, I primarily used comfort settings, while on highways, I switched to sport and sport plus settings to experience the ultimate speed.

M mode changes the dashboard design, making it feel like a sports car.

The gear shifts are smooth and responsive, making me imagine participating in a racing competition.

The ability to adjust driving settings for various environments makes the M4 suitable as a daily driver as well as a sports car for high-speed driving.

Moreover, the design and color options of the BMW M4 are exceptionally appealing.

The coupe's side design, in particular, captivates attention with its beautiful lines.

The two-door coupe model features long doors, which I believe receive widespread support, especially from younger women.

My wife loves the BMW coupe models, particularly the M4 and X6, citing their color and design balance as top-notch.

She especially admires the side design of the two-door coupe sedan, which I also find exceptionally beautiful.

Of course, individual tastes in design vary, but having experienced the M4 firsthand, I wholeheartedly agree with my wife.

I typically don’t favor flashy colors for cars, but I would make an exception for the high-performance coupe like the M4.

However, during my recent golf practice, I found that it comfortably fits two golf bags.

While fuel economy may not be a significant concern for those choosing high-performance models, the M4 proves to be a suitable daily driver as well.

The tire specifications are 275/35 R19 for the front and 285/30 R20 for the rear.

The M forged double-spoke 826 M black color wheels feature a combination of mixed tires and track tires.

The interior showcases a unique black and blue two-tone color scheme, providing a luxurious feel.

The M sports leather steering wheel, common in high-performance M series models, draws attention.

Despite being a two-door model, it offers enough space for four adults to travel comfortably.

However, given its coupe design, it’s better for taller passengers to sit in the front row.

However, due to their slightly firm nature, they may cause discomfort during long periods of stop-and-go traffic, so it’s essential to take breaks and stretch as needed.

Of course, those who frequently drive high-performance models will find the seat material familiar.

The M4 Competition comes equipped with BMW's latest driving assistance systems, including Driving Assistant Professional and Parking Assistant Plus, ensuring a comfortable and stable driving experience.

These features are particularly helpful in congested city traffic and speed trap areas, as the adaptive cruise control reduces driving fatigue.

After all, high-performance models don’t always need to be driven at full throttle. ㅎㅎ

The black high-gloss interior design exudes luxury.

The black and blue two-tone seats, black high-gloss accents, and the striking red buttons (start/stop, paddle shifters) create an irresistible allure.

Once you get behind the wheel, you won’t want to get out.

The Harman Kardon surround sound system provides rich audio during drives.

My wife and I enjoy listening to music while driving, and the M4 offers an exciting experience for all the senses.

The price of the BMW M4 Competition Coupe, reflecting the reduction in individual consumption tax, is approximately 108,000 USD for the rear-wheel drive model and about 110,000 USD for the xDrive model, showing a difference of around 2,000 USD.

However, the rear-wheel drive model will only be available for the 2021 model year, while subsequent 2022 models will exclusively arrive as xDrive, so keep this in mind.

The couple's test drive review

BMW showcased the M3 and M4 shortly after their launch at COEX, allowing the public to see them up close.

I also visited COEX to see the cars, and I remember being captivated by their beautiful and sophisticated designs.

Having test-driven various M series models, I was primarily drawn to their intense driving performance and the exhilarating exhaust sounds, but the BMW M4 Competition Coupe managed to captivate my heart even while standing still.

During my recent test drive with my wife, I was impressed by the driving performance of 510 horsepower and 66.3 kg·m of torque, but I also found that the design effortlessly draws attention wherever we go.

Particularly during nighttime driving, the ambient interior lighting and the unique exterior color reflecting streetlights create a romantic atmosphere for a date.

This made me think, "How wonderful would it be for couples to drive the M4 together?"

I felt as if my wife and I were enjoying a date reminiscent of our early relationship. ㅎㅎ

During the test drive, we predominantly used dark back roads, and the BMW laser lights and high beam assistant allowed for comfortable driving without needing to operate the lights manually.

The blue laser lights enhance the front design, making it stand out even more.

When the full-change model of the 4 Series was first launched, opinions on the vertical kidney grille were quite divided.
