#PlayByyourRules #A220 #A250 #CLA250 Launch!
Mercedes-Benz has launched the new A-Class sedan and CLA.
We visited the Hansung Motors showroom in Seongnam to test drive the 2020 Mercedes-Benz A-Class sedan and CLA.
I found the Benz showroom easily accessible from Wirye New Town, Gwangju, Gangnam, and Seongnam,
and the smooth traffic flow on the test drive course is an added benefit.
The Hansung Motors Seongnam showroom offers friendly service, including test drives and consultations for all Benz models.
Since the showroom opened last October, it’s worth visiting if you haven't had the chance yet.
You can make reservations by calling the main number. The number is clearly visible in the photo, right? Haha.
The Mercedes-Benz A-Class sedan and the second-generation CLA were launched with high expectations.
Although large-scale test drive events have been minimized due to COVID-19,
those interested in test driving the 2020 A-Class sedan and CLA should definitely visit to satisfy their curiosity.
Upon entering the Hansung Motors Seongnam showroom, I encountered the newly launched A220 sedan, A250 sedan, and CLA250 model.
I also met the showroom's mascot, Seongnam.
It somehow reminded me of Wilson from "I Live Alone."
The launch of the Mercedes-Benz A-Class sedan and the second-generation CLA
Here are the three models launched: the A-Class sedan, CLA, and A-Class hatchback.
From left to right: the A220 sedan, the black A250 4MATIC sedan, and the CLA250 4MATIC.
The launch price for the A220 sedan is 39.8 million KRW (approximately $30,000 USD), making it an affordable model.
The A250 4MATIC model launched at 46.8 million KRW (approximately $35,000 USD), which is 7 million KRW higher than the A220 model.
The CLA 250 4MATIC model is priced at 55.2 million KRW (approximately $41,500 USD).
When many think of the A-Class, they often picture a hatchback model. However, the launch of the 2020 A-Class sedan brings a significant change in space and performance.
The side design gives off a strong impression, doesn’t it? It looks completely different from the A-Class hatchback model we saw at the entrance.
What about the dimensions? The length is 179.1 inches, the wheelbase is 107.5 inches, the width is 70.7 inches, and the height is 56.7 inches.
Do you think it feels small?
Although it categorizes as a compact sedan, it has received praise for offering spaciousness that exceeds expectations.
What do you think of this design? The A-Class headlight design resembles a boomerang, which you might only see in movies... it's stunning!
Once seated inside, you can sense the essence of Mercedes-Benz throughout the cabin.
Is this really the A-Class sedan? If the A-Class sedan is this luxurious, isn't that a bit unfair?
Three air vents reminiscent of airplane turbine engines provide a central focus.
Not only does it feature a sleek design, but the ambient lighting also enhances the interior decor.
Mercedes-Benz's latest infotainment system, MBUX, is designed with the driver's convenience in mind.
I previously introduced this system in the GLC 300 post,
and it's easy for first-time users to adapt to it comfortably.
In the next installment, I will upload a review of Mercedes-Benz's latest infotainment system, MBUX.
The car has two cup holders, and you can fold or unfold the holder using the center button.
The vehicle supports wireless smartphone charging, and it even features a holding bar to secure your phone.
There is also a Type C charging port available, so you can charge as needed.
Sitting in the driver's seat gives you the feeling of being in a Mercedes.
The design of the steering wheel, along with the air vents, ambient lighting, and MBUX, reflects the essence of Mercedes throughout the A-Class sedan.
The steering wheel features compact touchpads on both sides for finger operation.
Although the small square touchpads may seem inconvenient, they actually provide a very comfortable experience.
Now, when operating the screen, you no longer need to take your hands off the steering wheel.
The voice recognition feature of the Mercedes MBUX is also quite convenient, right? If you use the voice recognition, you might not need to touch the screen much.
Just say "Hi Mercedes" and it responds quickly and executes your commands. You’ll understand how well it works once you try it yourself.
I also test drove the A220 sedan at the Mercedes-Benz Hansung showroom in Seongnam,
and I will soon upload a detailed test drive report.
The exterior of the A250 4MATIC model seems to differ mainly in wheel design, while the rest of the design is identical to the A220 sedan.
However, there is a significant difference in engine performance.
The A220 sedan boasts a maximum output of 190 horsepower and a maximum torque of 30.6 kg·m, while the A250 4MATIC sedan delivers 224 horsepower and 35.7 kg·m of torque.
The 7 million KRW (approximately $5,300 USD) difference between the A220 sedan and A250 4MATIC sedan primarily reflects the difference in engine performance.
The 0-60 mph time is 7.0 seconds for the A220 sedan and 6.3 seconds for the A250 4MATIC sedan.
The second-generation CLA250 4MATIC model combines the design of the existing CLS, generating high expectations.
This coupe-style sedan features an elegant and luxurious design that captivates the hearts of many women.
I visited the showroom with my wife, who expressed a desire to own a CLA, which made me a bit nervous. Haha.
I doubt there’s any woman who would dislike the design of the CLA model.
The length of the new model has increased by 50 mm compared to the first-generation model, providing a sense of spaciousness.
The AMG Line design adds a sporty touch, completing the CLA250 4MATIC design that appeals to people of all ages.
I genuinely think it’s beautiful.
This is a model you’ll want to own just by seeing the name! The 2020 second-generation CLA250 model. Ah~ I really want this model.
It has an output of 224 horsepower and a maximum torque of 35.7 kg·m, identical to the A250 4MATIC sedan.
However, the interior design of the CLA feels special.
The steering wheel features red double stitching, which adds a sporty touch.
The red stitching extends broadly to the seats and doors.
When you sit in the seats, you feel reluctant to get out... it’s a model you want to keep driving.
The front headlight design feels more refined compared to the A-Class sedan.
Can you notice the difference in headlight design?
If you’re unsure, scroll up a bit and compare it with the A-Class sedan.^^
The design of the front grille is similar, but the glamorous silver material used in the GLA250 4MATIC AMG Line grille adds a touch of luxury.
The GLA design is truly charming. It's a design that particularly appeals to women.
The Mercedes-Benz A-Class sedan and the second-generation GLA stirred our emotions, making it a truly entertaining event filled with visual delights... it was indeed a "Play by your rules" event.
So, I took a test drive and was completely impressed by the performance of the A-Class sedan.
{vi998)Is it really allowed to be this powerful? I will share detailed test drive experiences in the next post. The A-Class sedan and second-generation GLA launch celebration test drive event took place at the Hansung Motors Seongnam showroom.
As previously mentioned, there was also abundant catering prepared alongside Seongnam.
While enjoying the catering with Seongnam,
I asked the Product Expert about the A-Class sedan and CLA.
The Product Expert provided clear explanations about the newly launched vehicles, making it easy to understand.
I want to thank the Product Expert who assisted me that day, and I will share what I learned through YouTube.
Especially since the showroom is easily accessible from Wirye, Gangnam, Seongnam, and Gwangju,
if you're interested in a Benz vehicle, feel free to drop by.
