Last weekend, I visited the Mokdong showroom to test drive the 2025 BYD Atto 3.
I visited with a friend who lives in Mokdong.
I was considering buying an electric car for my wife to use for picking up the kids from their academy.
The BYD Mokdong showroom recently opened and provided a spacious and comfortable atmosphere for both the test drive and consultations about the Atto 3.
I had a great experience there.
What about the 2025 BYD Atto 3's colors and interior design? Has anything changed since its initial launch?
The interior comes in two options: a black monochrome and a blue & gray two-tone.
When I first test drove the Atto 3 at the Yeongjongdo pop-up event, I had to choose the Surf Blue to select the blue & gray two-tone interior.
However, I recently learned that you can now choose the two-tone interior regardless of the exterior color.
It seems that this reaction prompted the decision to allow the two-tone option for all exterior colors.
After seeing all the colors, my personal pick is also Ski White.
However, considering the electric vehicle subsidies, which are expected to be around 2 million won (approximately $1,500) for the base model, you can purchase it for a price in the high $18,000 range.The price difference is 1.8 million won (about $1,350). When you examine the options one by one, you'll find that the Plus model offers better value.
The 2025 BYD Atto 3 receives praise for its value due to its spacious interior, driving range, and a range of features that exceed expectations for its price.
If we look at the main features of the base model, it includes a 5-inch full LCD cluster, a 12.8-inch touchscreen, a panoramic sunroof with an electric shade, synthetic leather, electric seats, and heated front seats.
It also offers TMAP navigation, remote start, a surround view monitor, a wireless charging pad, external V2L (cables included), Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, DTA navigation, and software updates, all contributing to its great value.
The Plus trim adds several convenience features, including ventilated front seats, Dirac HD sound with eight speakers, a PM 2.5 filter air purifier, and an electric trunk.
Above all, the ventilated seats and premium speakers allow for a cool driving experience during hot weather, while the air purifier protects against fine dust, making these options essential.
Most customers who pre-ordered the 2025 BYD Atto 3 seem to opt for the higher trim by adding 1.8 million won (around $1,350).
What about the driving range and charging speed of the BYD Atto 3?
The 2025 BYD Atto 3 features a 60.48 kWh battery, providing a driving range of 321 km (about 199 miles).
It takes approximately 30 minutes to charge from 20% to 80% using a DC 100 kW charger, while charging from 0% to 100% takes about 1.2 hours.
When will the subsidy be finalized?Initially, we expected the subsidy for the BYD Atto 3 to be confirmed by mid-February, but it has been delayed slightly.
Currently, it seems likely that the subsidy will be confirmed by the end of February.
What additional features can families enjoy? 
The microphone boasts a stylish design and a white color combination that enhances the interior ambiance.
You can run the karaoke app on the 12.8-inch wide display, and once connected to the Bluetooth microphone, you’re ready to sing!
Even if you don’t use this feature often, it will surely provide enjoyable memories during potentially dull road trips.
The 2025 BYD Atto 3 test drive experience
My first test drive of the Atto 3 was brief, but at the BYD Mokdong showroom, I had the chance to experience a longer and more varied course.
I was particularly curious about the driving experience at high speeds.
To my delight, the Atto 3 exceeded my expectations with its powerful acceleration.
As it raced forward with a jet-like sound, everyone in the vehicle enjoyed the smooth ride and powerful performance.
After my satisfying test drive of the BYD Atto 3, I received an overwhelming number of positive comments.
You’ll understand why the Atto 3 surpassed 2,000 pre-orders when considering its pure electric vehicle performance.
My friend and I took turns driving and experiencing both the front and second rows.
Additionally, the panoramic sunroof enhances the sense of openness in the second row, making it an excellent choice for families.
