This past weekend, I visited the BMW Deutsche AutoWorld showroom in Suwon.
I went to see the coupe-style SUV model, the X4, and to check out the recent price discounts.
Unfortunately, I only got to see the M Competition model in person.
Still, since the space and size are similar, I sat in it to examine the headroom and legroom.
I also checked how much I could load, whether it be golf bags or camping gear.
Recently, more people have been showing interest in the BMW X4.
The main reason is that news of year-end discounts has circulated in the market.
This has sparked interest among those who hesitated to buy due to the high purchase costs.
Given its popularity as a best-selling car, the company didn’t need to increase the discount rates significantly.
However, because it could potentially surpass Mercedes-Benz in sales for imported cars by December, they are implementing aggressive discount policies.
My spouse and I are considering the gasoline 20i MSP model.
We also use it for business, so we are contemplating the diesel 20d model due to its longer driving range.
Shall we take a look at the mock estimates for both models?
2024 BMW X4 20i MSP
Vehicle price: 75,700,000 won (approximately $57,000 USD)
Acquisition tax: 4,820,000 won (approximately $3,600 USD)
Bond discount: 400,000 won (approximately $300 USD)
=> Estimated actual purchase price: 80,920,000 won (approximately $61,000 USD)
20d MSP
Vehicle price: 80,800,000 won (approximately $61,000 USD)
Acquisition tax: 5,140,000 won (approximately $3,900 USD)
Bond discount: 430,000 won (approximately $325 USD)
=> Estimated actual purchase price: 86,370,000 won (approximately $65,000 USD)
The actual purchase prices of the two models differ by about 5,450,000 won (approximately $4,100 USD).
Given that the diesel model offers excellent fuel efficiency, if you drive long distances,
this difference may not be significant.
KS AutoPlan doesn’t just look for discounts from specific dealers;
they compare all dealers to find the best conditions for customers.
If you’re considering long-term rental or lease of a new car, make sure to get a price comparison estimate before making a decision.
2024 BMW X4 Specifications and Model Comparison
Length: 15.35 feet (4,750 mm)
Width: 6.30 feet (1,920 mm)
Height: 5.31 feet (1,620 mm)
Wheelbase: 9.4 feet (2,865 mm)
The M Competition model features a slightly longer length and width, each by about 0.016 feet (5 mm),
which is a subtle difference that’s hard to notice visually.
However, its stunning colors and exclusive M design create a striking visual appeal,
making it a head-turner wherever you go.
This makes it a great choice for those who enjoy being the center of attention.
The 2024 BMW X4 offers four powertrains: gasoline 20i, diesel 20d,
M Performance M40i, and the M Series Competition.
Some people may exclude the M Competition model from comparisons due to its unique engine and luxurious design.
It showcases a powerful engine and distinctive, luxurious design.
BMW is renowned for its excellent diesel engines, but as we enter an eco-friendly era, customers are shifting from diesel to electric and hybrid models,
causing diesel options to gradually lose their market share.
When I first started posting about cars, the 20d was the main focus.

The fuel efficiency of the 20d model is about 2.4 km/L higher than that of the 20i.
Gasoline fuel tends to be more expensive than diesel, so if you drive long distances annually,
the 20d could be more economical.
I recently asked a 20d owner in my circle about their fuel savings compared to gasoline over the past year,
and they mentioned saving over 800,000 won (approximately $600 USD) due to driving more than 12,427 miles (20,000 km).
Given my own long driving distances, I can't overlook this aspect.
I also compared the driving performance of the three powertrains, and as expected, the M Competition model, priced over $100,000, stands out.
The zero to sixty mph time of 3.8 seconds is impressive enough to make you want to test it on the track.
If you have a need for speed, consider the M Competition model featured in this post.
The M Competition model features a 3.0L inline 6-cylinder engine that delivers powerful performance.
Even as someone who typically doesn’t enjoy speed, I remember having a blast driving this model.
Choosing sport mode on an empty highway and using the striking red paddle shifters while accelerating felt exhilarating.
This experience helped me understand why people invest in high-performance M Series vehicles.
My spouse and I frequently play golf, and despite being a coupe model, we can easily fit two golf bags and two duffel bags.
The second row folds in a 4:2:4 ratio, making it versatile for golf, camping, or road trips.
If you fold part of the second-row seats and push in three golf bags, it’s feasible for a three-person golf outing.
However, if you want to carpool with four people, a traditional SUV like the X3 might be a better option.
Lifting the panel at the bottom of the trunk reveals a small compartment, ideal for storing smaller items or cleaning supplies.
Considering the year-end discount promotions and stock availability, I’m thinking about making a purchase.
I’ve shared the situation regarding BMW’s enhanced December promotions;
there’s generally ample stock available at year-end.
In short, this month offers both discount benefits and quick delivery, making it an attractive time for those who have admired the coupe-style SUV model X4 but postponed their purchase due to financial concerns.
The 2024 BMW X4 has recently undergone a facelift, ensuring that it will feel like a new car for a long time.
Its stylish coupe SUV design appeals to a wide range of people, making it a recommended family car for couples and families alike.
