BMW M340i Touring
I recently had the opportunity to test drive the BMW 3 Series M performance model, the 'M340i Touring.'
I've been captivated by the powerful driving performance of BMW's M performance models and M series recently,
so I've focused my test drives on these models.~
The M340i I drove this time stood out for its impressive speed delivery.
You could say it reminded me of the thrill I felt during track driving in the past with the M3 CS model.
The exterior color of the BMW M340i Touring model shown in the pictures is Mineral Grey.
In addition to this color, the BMW 3 Series M340i Touring model comes in Alpine White, Black Sapphire, and Portimao Blue as its main color options.
Last weekend, I explored hot spots in the metropolitan area with my wife,
and thanks to the small yet powerful M340i, we had an exciting driving experience.
The performance of the M TwinPower Turbo inline 6-cylinder engine is truly impressive.
Although the BMW M340i looks quite similar to the existing 3 Series models,
when you press the accelerator, the power surges with a refreshing intensity that feels entirely different.
The M performance model features a Cerium Grey color instead of the usual silver for the grille, mirror caps, air intakes, and emblems, giving it a luxurious feel.
The M340i model showcases a unique design with its mesh kidney grille.
BMW 3 Series M340i Specifications
The dimensions are 185.4 inches in length, 71.9 inches in width, 56.7 inches in height, and a wheelbase of 112.2 inches.
The maximum output is 387 horsepower, with a peak torque of 37.4 lb-ft, and it accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 4.6 seconds.
The combined fuel efficiency is 23.4 mpg (highway 28.1 / city 21.0).
The Touring model features a design that isn't commonly seen in Korea, but I would recommend it for those who enjoy long-distance travel due to its practical space utilization.
The side design clearly shows that the trunk space is higher compared to the existing sedan models.
The trunk space is over 20 liters larger than the existing 3 Series models,
making it a great option for golf enthusiasts and families who enjoy various outdoor activities.
The trunk space measures 17.6 cubic feet.
The tailgate of the BMW 3 Series Touring model opens to reveal a spacious area, as shown in the photo, allowing for excellent openness.
It even allows the rear window to open, so you can easily load and unload small items through the window.
The second-row seats can fold in a 4:2:4 configuration.
By pulling the button on the right side of the rear, the seats fold automatically, allowing for easy access without needing to open the second-row door.
For those who enjoy camping, this spacious area is quite appealing,
and after folding the seats down, I found myself wanting to lie down with my wife and gaze at the stars through the sunroof.
With the trunk space being higher than the existing 3 Series,
it naturally offers excellent space utilization for camping. Of course, even if you're not camping, you can easily carry more luggage for long-distance travel. The interior seats of this model feature a Burnt Umber color.
You can feel the unique comfort of the Vernasca leather seats, making long-distance driving a breeze.
The BMW M340i comes equipped with the Driving Assistant Professional feature, which enhances the comfort of the driver's experience.
During congested driving in downtown Seoul, the adaptive cruise control feature helped reduce driver fatigue.
You can easily adjust the distance and speed from the car in front, and the response time is excellent, allowing for a stress-free experience.
In addition, the Parking Assistant feature allows the vehicle to recognize the path it came from, enabling reverse maneuvers with just the accelerator and brake, so there's no need to worry if you take a wrong turn.
The combined fuel efficiency is 23.4 mpg, but after driving for four days, I found the actual mileage to be around 25.8 mpg.
Despite being a high-performance model, it seems to also offer good fuel economy.
The 12.3-inch color digital instrument cluster helps recognize vehicles and motorcycles in blind spots, significantly reducing the risk of accidents.
While the side and rear sensors are operational, being able to visually assess the situation beforehand provides additional peace of mind for the driver.
While utilizing various convenience features from BMW,
I enjoyed the rich sound flowing from the Harman Kardon audio system, making the journey to my destination feel like a breeze.
While I primarily tested on congested urban roads this time, the various driving assistance systems from BMW allowed me to enjoy a comfortable and less tiring drive.
Thanks to this, I was able to enjoy exploring various hot spots in the city enthusiastically.
