Today, I’m excited to share my experience with the BMW X5 40i.
I drove the model featuring a Phytonic Blue exterior and Vernasca Canberra Beige interior.
I have always loved the Phytonic Blue among the previous X5 exterior colors,
and my wife is a fan of beige seats, so~
I would say this model perfectly satisfied both of our preferences.
I felt like time flew by during the test drive, and by the end, I was reluctant to let it go.
It truly was a test drive that made both current and prospective BMW X5 40i owners envious.
The BMW X5 has undergone a complete transformation, introducing two diesel models: the 30d and M50d.
As eco-friendly models gained popularity, the gasoline variants, 40i and M50i, have also been added to the lineup.
(The diesel model with mild hybrid technology, the 40d, will be released soon.)
When they announced the release of the gasoline models, I worried that the unique driving feel and powerful torque of the diesel engine would be lost, making it bland.
However, with the introduction of the 40i model instead of the 30i, those concerns were completely alleviated.
The BMW X5 40i boasts an impressive output of 340 horsepower, a maximum torque of 71.4 kg•m, and a 0 to 60 mph time of just 5.5 seconds, fulfilling the needs of speed enthusiasts.
Moreover, the blue laser lights and crystal glass interior, previously exclusive to the top-tier models, now come standard, offering both exceptional visibility and a luxurious aesthetic.
The trunk space in the BMW X5 measures 645 liters.
You can fit up to four golf bags without folding the second row seats.
Folding the second row increases the capacity to 1,860 liters.
This ample space makes it a great family vehicle for trips, and golfers will find it an excellent choice for their gear.
This model is not only spacious but also highly versatile.
Earlier, I mentioned that my wife loves beige seats, and I’ve grown to appreciate them as well.
I initially worried that I might tire of the color, but I’ve found it to be refreshing, brightening up the interior atmosphere.
Especially during daylight, the appeal of the beige seats shines through.
You can see other brands also embracing this trend by releasing brighter-colored seats, likely in response to the increasing number of female owners.
Additionally, the Vernasca leather seats are easy to maintain and provide comfort during long drives, significantly reducing driver fatigue.
Just resting your head against the headrest feels incredibly comfortable.
The crystal glass interior in the BMW X5 40i creates a luxurious atmosphere, especially when enjoying a drive with a loved one.
This ambiance truly feels like a gift.
The BMW X5 40i features a cooling function in its cup holders, allowing ice drinks to stay cold and hot beverages to maintain their warmth for longer.
With summer approaching, placing an iced Americano in the cup holder and activating the cooling function ensures that the ice doesn’t melt quickly, keeping your drink refreshingly cold for an extended period.
In the past, BMW focused solely on engine performance when launching new models, but now they have upgraded the details to match contemporary trends.
During my test drive of the BMW X5 40i, I realized that it offers numerous attractive features that can easily win over female customers.
The crystal gear knob, born from collaboration with Swarovski, adds a touch of jewelry-like elegance.
The panoramic glass sunroof enhances the feeling of openness, especially on sunny days.
From the second row, you can enjoy a breathtaking view all around. The openness is fantastic!
The BMW X5 40i achieves a combined fuel economy of 10.1 km/L (approximately 23.7 miles per gallon)
(city: 9.4 km/L / highway: 11.3 km/L).
This impressive figure rivals that of high-performance models, making it a commendable number for a hefty SUV.
With this level of fuel efficiency, the financial burden seems manageable.
The BMW X5 40i comes equipped with the Driving Assistant Professional feature, ensuring a more comfortable and stable driving experience.
This feature utilizes 3D augmented reality to detect surrounding vehicles, including motorcycles in blind spots, allowing for a relaxed drive even in congested city traffic.
When you find yourself in a dead-end street, the reversing assistant feature comes in handy, while the around-view camera makes parking in tight spaces a breeze.
For long drives, utilizing the semi-autonomous driving mode makes driving exceptionally easy.
The popularity of the BMW X5 40i is undeniable.
Although the waiting period is relatively long, the numerous attractive features make it a model worth the wait.
However, the waiting period for the vehicle is not fixed and can vary, so it’s advisable to regularly check with BMW-certified sales staff.
