This post was written after receiving a test drive opportunity from VOLVO KOREA.

Hello, I’m Double View, an automotive influencer.

Last weekend, I enjoyed a city date while test-driving the compact electric SUV Volvo EX30 and,

The eye-catching design, practical space, and impressive energy efficiency left a strong impression.

I drove the limited edition Volvo EX30 Moss Yellow Edition, which is available for only 30 units,

and I felt its refreshing charm, perfectly suited for the spring season.

The EX30 is Volvo's first compact pure electric SUV developed to popularize premium electric vehicles.

In Korea, it ranked first among European electric vehicle models with sales of 478 units in March, and it has become a model with overwhelming demand, selling out as soon as it arrives.

The interior features a tablet-style 12.3-inch vertical center display, which offers excellent visibility and usability,

and it includes the TMAP infotainment service, providing comfortable and accurate navigation.

The TMAP, NUGU, and FLO infotainment services have improved satisfaction with navigation and voice recognition, often criticized in imported cars,

making it convenient and useful for everyone, regardless of age.

While individual preferences may vary regarding exterior design,
the Scandinavian-inspired EX30 encapsulates Volvo's identity while enhancing satisfaction with its trendy feel,

and it has received praise for its universally appealing design.

The Volvo EX30 delivers a maximum output of 272 horsepower and a peak torque of 35.0 kg·m, showcasing lively movement and providing an enjoyable driving experience.

With a 0-60 mph time of 5.3 seconds, its acceleration from a standstill is impressive, and it also offers a stable driving experience on the highway.

This model demonstrated a driving performance that exceeds typical competitors in its class, prompting me to reflect on whether my previous focus on design was a misjudgment before experiencing it firsthand.

The Volvo EX30, developed with the aim of being a premium electrified SUV, provided a driving experience on par with its class.

While compact SUVs typically transmit significant vibrations over uneven road surfaces, the EX30 effectively dampened those vibrations, particularly excelling in low-speed driving comfort.

The TMAP infotainment system set optimal routes even in congested urban areas and provided accurate arrival times at destinations.

It even allowed me to check the remaining time at traffic signals, enabling me to decide whether to continue or stop at intersections with speed cameras in advance.

Some people have pondered whether to stop when an orange light suddenly appears at a nearby speed camera, leading to potential fines, but with this information, unintentional violations can be reduced.

The Volvo EX30 features a simple yet luxurious interior atmosphere that remains appealing even after long periods of use.

As soon as it arrives in Korea, it sells out quickly,

and as owners continue to praise it, the wait time for delivery is likely to increase.

The EX30 comes with three interior designs inspired by nature, and the eco-friendly decorations made from recycled materials look surprisingly luxurious.

This model features the Mist interior design, and options for Breeze and Indigo are also available.

I believe the EX30 might be the compact SUV electric vehicle that best meets the driving experience desired by the MZ generation, especially considering their sensitivity to design.
While the price is slightly higher compared to domestic electric vehicles in the same class,

considering its design and performance, I can’t help but recommend this model.

Volvo EX30 charging experience and driving range?
Before testing the EX30, I had some fear about charging as an electric vehicle owner.
However, I found many charging locations available wherever I went, including in apartment parking lots,
so I experienced no inconvenience regarding charging.

During the weekend, I had business at the IFC Mall and discovered an electric vehicle parking space,

where I charged slowly while shopping.

Last year, when I tested an electric vehicle, many charging stations required app installations and sign-ups each time I charged,

but now, I can conveniently charge using familiar apps like TMAP or Kakao Navi.
Moreover, I found that I could charge at member rates without separate membership registration.
On that day, I charged using the TMAP app without signing up, and the rate was 253 won (approximately 0.19 USD) per kWh.

When I visited the Sofitel in Jamsil for a hotel stay, I also found charging facilities in the electric vehicle charging area,

which made parking easier than in other spaces, and charging was affordable.

During my test drive, I enjoyed a city date visiting hotels, shopping malls, restaurants, and cafés,

and I found the electric vehicle charging infrastructure to be more plentiful than I expected, allowing for convenient use.

The EX30 comes equipped with a 69 kWh lithium-ion battery, allowing for a driving range of up to 295 miles when fully charged.

If you use it for commuting in the metropolitan area, you can operate for about two weeks on a single charge,

meaning you only need to charge twice a month,

and it offers sufficient range for domestic travel.

The combined energy efficiency rating is 4.8 km/kWh, but during my driving, I measured a higher efficiency of 5.7 km/kWh.

Of course, the recent warm weather and lack of need for air conditioning might have contributed to the higher efficiency, but I believe that with regenerative braking adjustments, it could achieve an efficiency of over 6.0 km/kWh.
The Volvo EX30 has significantly improved both design satisfaction and driving comfort as a premium electrified model,
and I highly recommend it to anyone considering their first electric vehicle purchase.

However, you should consider that the supply of units arriving in Korea may not meet demand, resulting in a wait for delivery.

The EX30 is priced at 47,550,000 won (approximately 35,600 USD) for the Core trim and 49,570,000 won (approximately 37,200 USD) for the Ultra trim, based on tax benefits and a 3.5% reduction in the individual consumption tax.
You can also receive a government subsidy of 2,470,000 won (approximately 1,850 USD) combined with municipal subsidies based on your residence. If you have any additional questions about my test drive experience, please leave a comment, and I will respond promptly.

In May 2025, I will share more about the Volvo EX30 Moss Yellow Edition #TestDrive
